I finally had my second revision surgery recently! I got a lot of information from this community, so I’m sharing mine here too! First, my first non-incisional double eyelid came undone after 3 years, and the second non-incisional one was done at the same clinic but came undone after 6 years
In my head, I knew I had to do an incision, but when I looked at incisional review photos, there wasn’t anywhere I liked.
At IQ, the wait just for a consultation was 2 months, and in the meantime I went around for consultations elsewhere and found a place where I liked the non-incisional results, so I had booked surgery there!
Then I went to the IQ consultation, and it was the only place where I liked the incisional reviews!!!.....!!!!
My memory could be wrong, but IQ was the only place that also showed photos with the eyes closed, and that made me trust them so much!!!! It was the place that broke my prejudice that incision = the line shows when you close your eyes...! Of course, maybe not 100% of the time!!!!!!!!
And I was shocked during the consultation with the doctor. My eyes were so natural that everyone didn’t even know I’d had double eyelid surgery, so I actually wanted to make the line higher, you know?! But they explained in detail, with examples, that my line was already high to begin with, but because it had already come undone it looked thin, so I trusted them even more!
So the price was a bit expensive, but I chose this place, and I think it was the right choice! (But I think I was shocked because I had only been looking into non-incisional surgery and then heard the incision price)
(Before surgery) One side had completely come undone so there was no line at all, and on the other side, like in the before photo, a line formed above the double eyelid and swallowed the original double eyelid, then came back, and this kept repeating. (Still, my eyes held up well until surgery....)
(Day 1 after surgery) The surgery was done by incision, and the line was made slightly lower than now! At first we planned fat removal, but there was less fat than expected and it was clumped, so they worked on loosening that(?) I didn’t have canthoplasty or ptosis correction!
I went into the operating room and came out 1 hour and 30 minutes later, so probably design + anesthesia was 30 minutes and the surgery time was 1 hour?
For the design, I thought they’d just do it a few times and say okay, but they drew it while I was lying down, had me close and open my eyes repeatedly, then had me sit up and repeated the same thing, then lie down again, sit up again!..! They kept designing it very carefully!!!
Then music played and I think I went under sedation, and when I was slightly awake, I repeatedly opened and closed my eyes. I opened and closed them so many times Since you can see the doctor’s face ve~~~ry clearly when you open your eyes, there’s no need to worry about ghost surgery!!!
I did cold compresses in the recovery room and looked in the mirror before going home, and day 1 looked better than I expected!...!? It was almost the same as day 1 after my first non-incisional surgery?!!!! So I closed my eyes and, yep, stitches ^^ I brought sunglasses, but I didn’t need them
The clinic where I had surgery before was a large hospital, so it was really chaotic, I had to keep moving around by elevator, and after surgery there were people walking around wrapped in bandages, so it was hectic. Here, it’s a one-doctor eye-specialized clinic, so it wasn’t chaotic and it was quiet and nice!
On the way home after surgery, my eyes stung a bit, and that day they prickled when I opened them. From the evening, a slight bruise started showing on my right eye!
(Day 2 after surgery) There was a little bruising until the morning, but by evening the bruise color got a bit darker! Instead, there was no eye stinging or prickling at all, just the feeling of having stitches!
I was much more fine than expected(?), so I became someone who wore a hat and glasses and even went out to eat... I thought it wouldn’t show if I pulled the hat down low
(Day 3 after surgery) Until the stitches are removed, there’s no difference from non-incisional surgery except when my eyes are closed!!!! My left eye didn’t have much bruising, but the right one did!
(Day 6 after surgery) The long-awaited stitch-removal day!!! I like the line now too, but it’ll keep getting lower, right...? My left eye is already an eye that can go back to daily life....
The more I looked into it, the more difficult this revision surgery felt, and since it was incision rather than non-incisional, I was really worried, but it turned out even better than I expected, so I’m happy!! I just hope it doesn’t come undone from now on. Since the non-incisional one also came undone after 6 years, maybe the incision won’t come undone....?! That’s my hope
For my first surgery, I didn’t really research properly and just did it after seeing an ad, so for this revision I spent more than two months researching online and going to consultations. When I actually went around for consultations, there really were places where I got a feeling!!! So I hope you go to lots of in-person consultations without regrets!!! If I hadn’t waited for IQ and had done it somewhere else, incision would never have happened in my life (Now that I’ve had the incision and think back, I feel like during consultations the doctors were indirectly saying that non-incisional would come undone anyway, but I gritted my teeth and didn’t listen ^_^)
Later, once all the swelling goes down, I’ll post another review! Right now my hands were itching to write, so this is a review I wrote as soon as the stitches came out
