During an eye consultation 4 years ago, what I wanted was monolids, and because the front part of my upper eyelids was droopy, my eyes looked sharp, so I said I wanted double eyelid surgery to make my eyes look a bit softer.
They said that to do that, I needed double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty + slight ptosis correction, and the price was reasonable, so I had the surgery without suspicion, but both eyes were overcorrected. My eyes don’t close all the way, and there is pain as if my eyeballs are being pulled. Especially when I open my left eye, the white above the iris shows, like rabbit eyes.
One week after surgery, on the day the stitches were removed, I told them about these symptoms, but they said, “Wait and see. With time, it will settle and come down.” Even after waiting 4 years, the symptoms were the same, so I consulted again. They said it was indeed overcorrected and that it would be okay if released with revision surgery. Two weeks ago, I had revision surgery only on my left eye, but the symptoms got worse, and a double crease formed and won’t go away.
After searching around, I found out I need “eyelid retraction correction surgery,” but the surgery is difficult, so it’s hard to find a truly skilled doctor who does it properly. I can’t trust the original hospital.
Is there anyone who had symptoms like mine or successfully released overcorrection?
