Before <Before surgery> after after after after after after after after after Compared with my vertically short face from the forehead to the midface and chin, I had some width and empty space horizontally, so I thought and worried that my face looked round. I looked up reviews on apps and did a lot of online research, then had a consultation at just one hospital that I liked the most and that seemed to match the direction I wanted, and decided on surgery right away!
The director who performed my surgery and all the hospital staff who took care of me after the surgery were kind, so it was good in many ways. Even from the day of surgery, I could clearly feel that my cheekbones were gone when I touched them haha. At one week, I went to the hospital to have the stitches removed and also saw the director. They showed me the before-and-after photos, and when I checked them, there really was a big difference. The director said I was the type with not much swelling and that I would see a strong effect, so I was excited and curious about what was to come. Just as the director said, by week 2 I started seeing the effect, and around week 3 the swelling was barely noticeable. Before even one month had passed, people around me said I had become much slimmer and that my facial line looked cleanly refined, so I gained confidence too haha. It wasn’t that there was absolutely no residual swelling, but it showed a bit in the morning and then went down completely by evening. I heard swelling can keep going down for up to a year, so it got better as time passed haha.
After surgery, I gradually adjusted and I think the discomfort in daily life decreased, and by around 6 months it disappeared completely. Before surgery, I was so self-conscious about my face shape that I couldn’t wear hats, but now I wear them often and tie my hair up often too. I really felt the surgery was worth it because after surgery, whenever I took photos or looked in the mirror, I would take out my pre-op photos and compare them, and even when I touched my face, my cheekbones were completely gone. My overall facial lines became softer, so goodbye to my concerns haha. It’s a difficult surgery and there is a lot of talk about side effects, but I didn’t have any of that, and I’m always just grateful to the director for performing the surgery well and making my face shape pretty haha
