I originally joined just to look up procedure information, but I felt like writing a review, so here I am.. I had breast surgery with Mentor Smooth implants, 350cc on both sides. I had the incision under the breast. I usually wear a lot of sleeveless tops, and even though people say the scar is hidden in the armpit with an axillary incision, I felt like it would bother me way too much.
About my criteria for choosing a hospital: in my opinion, it’s better not to go just by review photos. Ultimately, our biggest goal is for the cosmetic surgery to be successful. Since it’s surgery on your own body, I think you need to be even more careful.
When going around for consultations, distinguish things for yourself. For reference only: review photos, stories that someone else had surgery there and succeeded, implant type, size, everything. First of all, I hope you don’t just go ahead and have surgery at a hospital because someone else did well there, like blindly following a friend to Gangnam. The one who succeeded is your friend, and the one getting surgery is you yourself. No matter how good a hospital was for someone else, you’ll have fewer regrets if you have surgery somewhere that you personally feel is genuinely good.
The same goes for implant type. A lot of people get Motiva these days, right? Motiva is relatively one of the newest options released (excluding Mentor Boost), and because it’s expensive, most factory-style hospitals recommend Motiva. Why? Because that leaves more profit for the hospital too.. If you go to a consultation and act unsure like ㅇ_ㅇ “I don’t really know much about implants..,” there’s a 2000% chance you’ll be recommended Motiva.
Honestly, this is a characteristic of large + commonly called factory-style hospitals, and places that are a bit smaller and have a structured system for each individual don’t blindly recommend Motiva. They look at your body type and even consider the patient’s budget before recommending implants.. That’s why I went with Mentor Smooth too, and I don’t regret it at all. They also guarantee aftercare for life. It also wasn’t a place where the atmosphere completely changed after surgery was over.
When I was getting breast surgery, honestly my mom tried really hard to stop me. But what could I do? It’s my life, and it was something I wanted to do, so I just got it done lol. For a week, my mom took care of me like I was royalty. Even though I recover faster than most people, I was extra, extra careful. (That doesn’t mean I was in a state where I couldn’t move by myself.) And now that I say I’m satisfied, my mom also says I did well getting it done lol
When I compare before and after, I’m living a much more satisfying life now, but when my friend saw that I got breast surgery and tried to immediately book surgery at the same hospital, I told her about at least two more places and made her go to more consultations.
Everyone should go to at least 3-4 consultations and have surgery at a hospital where the size, cost, and implants all match what you want. I’m intentionally not going to disclose how much I paid or where I had it done in the post. If anyone is curious, I’ll let you know in the comments.. or something.
