<Day 1 after surgery>Before <Before double eyelid surgery>Before <Before double eyelid surgery 2>I wasn't very keen on getting double eyelid surgery, but my eyes were uneven, which bothered me a bit, so I went for consultations. I ended up only visiting three places because it was tiring to go around to multiple clinics. The other two places recommended unnecessary procedures and were also more expensive, so I didn't choose them. At DA, though, the manager and the doctor were both incredibly kind and explained everything in great detail.
After the consultation here, I even put down a deposit, but when I tried to look up reviews, there weren't many and most of them were from men, so I thought, did I pick the wrong place? In the end, you don't know until you try, so I set a surgery date. On the day of surgery, it was scheduled for 7:30 p.m., but they said there was time earlier in the schedule and asked if I could come in sooner.
I had something to do, so I said I'd let them know in 10 minutes, took care of it, and then decided to have surgery at 1:30 p.m. and went in by 12:30. I kept going back and forth doing this and that before the surgery, and I was so hungry I almost died. It had originally been scheduled for 7:30, so I planned to eat at 11, but then I got a call around 11 saying the time had changed, and I had fasted for almost 20 hours and felt like I was about to throw up. In the end, I threw up from being on an empty stomach after I got home. The surgery seemed to have been affected by the vomiting, because there was quite a lot of bleeding. I applied the medication and calmed down.
I was waiting for the doctor in the operating room, and because he took so long to come in, I was starving, had no energy, and felt dizzy. The surgery itself wasn't scary, but being hungry was so hard. Finally the doctor came in to do the surgery, and when he said we could do it while listening to music, I listened to music and went ahead with the procedure. It helped me relax a bit. But during the sedation, my eyelids started stinging and I was like, ugh, and it turned out they were burning away the fat in my upper eyelids. It hurt so much, but I figured I had to endure that much if I wanted to look prettier, so I held out. After the surgery, I lay down in the recovery room and used cold compresses, then threw up as soon as I got home. When I looked at my eyes, they were a bit swollen. I also got a swelling shot, and I wondered how swollen I would have been if I hadn't gotten it.
Still, I think it went well, so I want a week to pass quickly so I can remove the stitches. It's so frustrating. I'm really curious to see how my eyes will change.
