A year ago, when I had my first nose surgery, I only thought about making it higher without much consideration. As time went by, I developed rhinitis, and it became so hard to sleep that I ended up getting surgery. I had both cosmetic rhinoplasty and functional nasal surgery, and I’m now 1 month post-op.
I had revision rhinoplasty, nasal tip surgery, nasal bridge osteotomy, short nose correction, and alar reduction. My sinusitis was severe, so I had rhinitis-related nasal surgery at the same time, and the columella was lowered slightly. The materials used were ear cartilage, autologous costal cartilage, and artificial dermis.
During this revision surgery, I was very worried about both the shape and my rhinitis, but as the major swelling went down, the nasal congestion also improved, so daily life has become much easier. I’ll have to keep watching the progress, but I’m relieved because the results seem better than I expected.
