My nose surgery went badly.
It was in Gangnam-gu, a hospital that advertised a lot and specialized in rhinoplasty, but it went badly both cosmetically and functionally. (I’m planning to write about this in detail in another category.)
I went for a consultation at a famous university hospital in Seoul. I paid 1 million won just for examination fees.
Only after getting all the tests did I have a proper consultation with the professor, and when I asked, “It can get better than before, right?” he said he wasn’t confident??????????? Before that, I had brought all the surgical chart records from the previous hospital, and printed out the CT scans and photos to show him, but he didn’t even glance at them, as if it was a bother, and said we would talk after the tests.
Only after I had tests costing over 1 million won did he say he wasn’t confident, but he could still do it.... I was so dumbfounded that I said, “Is there anyone who would still have surgery after hearing that you aren’t confident but can still do it? Then you should have told me from the start, when I showed you the chart, that it couldn’t be done. I paid 1 million won and got tested.” Then he got angry at me. His consultation attitude was also... like he was completely annoyed..
We raised our voices at each other a bit and I left. I threw away 1 million won... I’m already throwing money away because my nose surgery failed, so I felt miserable.
If anyone thinks that because it’s a university hospital, they must be good at surgery, I want to say that is absolutely a misconception.
It probably depends on the hospital. But that was my experience, so just be aware
