Before <before surgery> Before <before surgery> <day of surgery> <after removing the taping> <day 7> <day 7> It has been 1 week since I had facial contouring at FO. Once I actually got it done, time has been passing really quickly.
Day of surgery: Before the surgery, I met with the consultant, went over the things we had discussed during the consultation one more time, listened to the precautions, and went up to the operating room. In the operating room, I talked about the design once more with the director too, and although I was nervous, I just fell asleep and woke up and it was over. After waking up from anesthesia.. it really felt like an enormous hangover hit me briefly but hardㅠ There was no pain from the surgery, but waking up from the anesthesia was so hard. It was hard because I wasn't allowed to sleep, and they gave me pumpkin porridge, but I had absolutely no desire to eat it. I couldn't drink water for several hours either, but I didn't even feel like drinking waterㅠ Since I was hospitalized that day, I could at least relax mentally and just rest! I kept getting IV fluids, and they gave me painkillers and swelling injections. The director also came by often, kept checking whether I felt nauseous or uncomfortable anywhere, and explained the surgical progress well too. Anyway, the first day was hardㅠㅠ
Day 1: They removed the bandage, I received a swelling laser treatment, and I was discharged. I got my prescription, came home, kept icing, and drank the drinkable pumpkin porridge the hospital gave me. The inside of my mouth was swollen and I couldn't open it well, so it was hard, but I had to take medicine, so I ate. My lips were very swollen. At dawn it throbbed a little, but it was just a dull aching level.
Days 2-3: If you just get through up to this point, there is nothing difficult haha. On day 3, I went to have the taping removed. They also provided a shampoo service, so refreshing haha. After removing the taping, for some reason it felt like the swelling went down a little right there as soon as they took it off.. After removing the taping, they disinfected the incision sites, I saw the director, got a swelling laser treatment, and left. From this point on, I also took walks.
Days 4-5: The swelling looked like it had gone down compared to up to day 2, but maybe because the stitches had not been removed yet, it felt like it was going down slowly, so I kept diligently using ice packs. Still, I think I didn't swell as much as I expected. On day 4, my mouth suddenly opened well. One finger fit in. Because of eating and swelling it bothered me, but from this point on there was absolutely nothing difficult, it was just boring.. I wish time would pass quicklyㅠㅠ
Day 6: I had the stitches removed and received a swelling laser treatment. The sideburn stitches didn't hurt at all, and the intraoral stitches hurt a littleㅠ Still, the nurse did it as quickly as possible so it would hurt as little as possible.
Day 7: Maybe because the stitches were removed, even when I woke up in the morning, the swelling felt less like it was going to burst than before. Still, right after waking up, my face feels like it might burst and feels heavy.
My face wasn't especially very bumpy, but I had surgery because of cheekbones that bothered me, a peanut-shaped face, a long face, and asymmetry. I had been correcting it with filler, but I hated the foreign-body sensation like my face was going to burst, so I removed it all and just had surgery haha. I asked them to make it natural and not too intense. Since I had a slightly retruded chin, I had anterior chin advancement and length reduction, and for the cheekbones and square jaw, I didn't want a dog-like jaw, so I asked them to leave a little mandibular angle below the ear.
My impression up to day 7 is that with facial contouring surgery, if you endure the difficult part until about day 3, after that it seems pretty manageable lol lol It doesn't hurt or anything, it's a battle with timeㅠㅎ And right before I went into surgery, sitting on the operating table, I told the director to shave down my cheekbones a lot lol I said that, and even with swelling, I can really see that they went in a lot, so I'm very happy. From the front, I still can't really tell because of the swelling, but when I look in the mirror at a 45-degree angle, my cheekbones look smooth, so I'm so proud haha. I can clearly see that my jaw length has shortened too, and I especially like that the length asymmetry seems to have been corrected. I still can't see the square jaw line because of the swelling. I'll have to see once the major swelling roughly goes down, but anyway I can see that it has changed a bit~ Still, considering I had facial contouring surgery, I don't think I have much swelling haha I think it's because the director did the surgery well^^ The director, consultant, and nurses are all so nice, and the aftercare too haha Since the director and consultant are close by, they tell me to come every day to get swelling laser treatment haha Whenever I have something I'm curious about, I message the consultant, and she always replies immediately, thank you haha.. The director also always speaks gently and makes me feel comfortable haha Next week I'm going to get my 2-week CT scan. Anyway, I'm recovering well without discomfort, and once a lot of the swelling goes down, I'll write another review~
