I had a complex about my protruding mouth, so I often covered my mouth, but even 7 years after finishing orthodontic treatment, I’m very, very satisfied with my appearance. The orthodontic period was expected to be about 3 years and 6 months, but because I ate hard foods and had nose surgery in the middle, it took 1 year longer. I had a total of 8 teeth extracted, including 4 wisdom teeth.
Personally, the advantage I felt after orthodontic treatment was just the improvement in appearance, and honestly, I think there are quite a few disadvantages. A retainer for life, gum problems, gaps between teeth, inconvenience with flossing, and so on. There are disadvantages, but if you asked me, “Would you go back to that time and get orthodontic treatment again?” I think I would do it again.
