I had square jaw surgery + deep cheek fat removal at a plastic surgery clinic near Yeoksam Station in early January 2020
I don’t know if the swelling went down slowly or if it was because I had a lot of facial fat, but until last year it didn’t look like I’d had surgery, so I was stressed and even considered revision surgery. I think I did well to be patient and wait. Starting this year, the effect began to show, and these days it seems to be at its peak. Comparing before and after, the difference is huge haha
What I was most worried about after surgery was skin sagging and nerve damage. It’s been over a year, but I don’t feel any sagging, and from two days after surgery my chin nerve started feeling itchy, and all the sensation came back too.
However, maybe because of scar tissue along the intraoral incision line, the inside of my mouth definitely feels narrower, so brushing my teeth is uncomfortable, and compared with before surgery, I feel like my chin dimpling has gotten worse... When I stick my lips out, my chin gets all wrinkly.
Also, my bones were large, but my muscles were large too, so even before surgery I had been consistently getting square jaw Botox, but I barely saw any effect. So I regret not consulting with the director about masseter reduction surgery lol.. I didn’t look into it properly and just asked the director to take care of it naturally and safely.
For those reading this who are thinking about surgery, I hope you consult in detail with the director, clearly understand what type of surgery you’ll be getting, and then have the surgery!
