Review of my first double-eyelid surgery

Hi everyone! It feels like only recently that I joined this community before my double-eyelid surgery and worked hard searching for reviews, but it's already been one month since my surgery, so I'm leaving a review too haha

I've lived with monolids all along, and I never really felt that my eyes were extremely small or inconvenient, so I didn't think much about double-eyelid surgery. But since many friends around me were getting it, I gradually became interested too! Then I followed a friend to a double-eyelid surgery consultation, and after thinking it over, I decided to get it done as well. So I only had a consultation at exactly one place and booked the surgery date!

The decisive reason I chose to have double-eyelid surgery here was that I really trusted the director. During the consultation, he examined my eyes very carefully from all angles, and I was surprised that he immediately noticed my habit of opening my eyes by raising my eyebrows enough to make slight wrinkles on my forehead. Still, he said my ptosis was not severe, so I did not need eye-shape correction, and that I should build and practice the strength to open my eyes going forward. He also said that, considering that I had a little fat on my upper eyelids, relatively thick skin, and severe epicanthal folds, I needed partial incision + fat removal + medial epicanthoplasty. I had no intention of getting canthoplasty at all, but he said I definitely needed it because of the epicanthal folds. So after the consultation, I was a little worried because of the canthoplasty, but during the consultation I kept feeling that I could trust the doctor with my eyes, and the fact that the number of surgeries per day is limited also gave me confidence, so I decided to have the surgery!

Honestly, this was my first surgery ever in my life, but even on the day of surgery and up to now, my eyes have never hurt at all! So I was really grateful to the doctor and thought it was such a relief I barely bruised, and for me the swelling went down a lot in weeks 1-2, so I had no difficulty with daily life. There is still a little scar from the medial epicanthoplasty, but the doctor told me it would disappear after a little more time, so I am trusting that and waiting haha

It has been exactly one month now, and it feels like almost all the swelling has gone down, so these days I'm living very satisfied! Maybe because I now have double eyelids, my habit of opening my eyes with my forehead has naturally improved a lot. Most of all, when I do eye makeup, before, both eyeshadow and eyelashes would get buried in my upper eyelids, but now eyeshadow shows when I apply it, and my eyelashes lift firmly with an eyelash curler, so I actually enjoy doing eye makeup now!! People around me also tell me it turned out really natural and that my impression definitely looks clearer, so I'm happy. Every day I think I'm so glad I did it.

Thank you for reading this long post, and I hope everyone who is thinking about double-eyelid surgery or recovering after surgery has a successful double-eyelid surgery! hahaha♡
