6 years ago, I had double buried-suture double eyelid surgery at a plastic surgery clinic in Daejeon that was famous for double buried sutures! I didn’t have any other additional procedures.
Like my nickname, my biggest complex was my nose, but... at a young age, money was an issue, and nose surgery itself scared me, so I decided to start with double eyelid surgery!
It’s still the same now, but back then it was my first cosmetic surgery, so I valued “safety” the most. I thought buried sutures were on the safer(?) side compared with incision. The surgery result photos were also my style. Also, I had heard somewhere that if you do incision, revision surgery also has to be done by incision? After picking up things like that, I decided I absolutely had to go with buried sutures.
Honestly, rather than thinking I wanted surgery to turn my life around or change so much that people couldn’t recognize me... At the time, I was using a thin double eyelid glue/tape look, and I went into the consultation just hoping it would turn out naturally to about that extent.
During the consultation, with that mindset, I emphasized as much as possible: as natural as possible!! Just the feeling of adding a thin double eyelid line to my eyes!! So the director said then there really wouldn’t be much difference between doing it and not doing it, and that I would definitely regret it. So by agreement, we set the line at a middle point. (+I think listening to the director’s explanation of his patented double buried-suture method during consultation is required attendance haha)
As a result, I think it was so good that I listened to even half of what the director said..... Now I slightly regret it too, wondering if I should have set it larger lol
On the surgery day, I remember that after general anesthesia, they added local anesthesia, and in the middle of surgery, the doctor kept saying, “Please open your eyes,” to set the line.
After moving to the recovery room, I rested briefly and went home.. I’m the type whose swelling goes down slowly, and I’m a homebody so I didn’t even go for walks;; At first, I was surprised because my very swollen appearance didn’t look like me..
The result was extremely satisfying ^^ It turned out really natural and well, and afterward I joked to my friends that the doctor was my second father.
If I had to pick my prime years, I think it would be around late 2015 to 2017, when all the swelling had completely gone down ^^
Now a lot of time has passed, and due to my aging (ㅠㅠ), my eyelids have drooped and the line is slightly covered (my eyelids were already on the thick side, so I think it was just a matter of time), but that isn’t a surgery problem...
I did say it wasn’t a dramatic change, but when I look at the before-surgery photos, I also wonder if that’s not really true haha
