I had decided to do it somewhere else, but I had made the reservation anyway, and I thought canceling right before would be no different from a no-show, so I went.
I thought, “Is this a large hospital? Maybe I should skip ㅎ,” and there was a wait. While the consultation manager explained things for 10 minutes, I thought the manager was the doctor, so I kept looking at the name tag, and no matter how much I went over my memory, I don’t think there had been a woman there. She also seemed to know how to read CT scans a little. Anyway, I almost thought the consultation was with the doctor, so I was like, “I really should skip this place.”
The doctor gave a good impression. He divided the types of nose surgery? into two categories: the nose I want, and the points I want to improve. He consulted based on those. I said another hospital had mentioned osteotomy, and asked whether I didn’t need it. I also asked, since I have a slight hump, whether I should keep it or shave it down. He said osteotomy would be meaningless, and the hump is very slight, so we decided to keep that and fill the dorsum with cartilage-type material. He explained it in a way that was really easy to understand. I had threads inserted a long time ago too, and he said the septum was somewhat damaged because of that, but it was sturdy, so it was okay. This was the first hospital that looked at that and tailored the explanation accordingly, and I felt like he understood CT well and knew how to evaluate a nose. The consultation went smoothly, so I thought, “This is the place.” Surgical method Nasolabial angle correction, lowering the columella, bulbous nose correction, nasal tip only with septal cartilage + ear cartilage (We decided to leave the thread in the nasal bridge as it is.)
They have CCTV, but because there are many cameras in the hospital, they said it isn’t stored due to capacity concerns. Instead, immediate family can view it in real time. It’s fine if immediate family records it. Friends/acquaintances are not allowed. They said it’s not allowed because of personal information. I said, “It’s my personal information, so I’m okay with it,” and they said they would check and contact me.
Originally, last year I was going to put in silicone and get a natural yet polished-looking nose, then I decided not to, then changed my mind again, and this year my thinking changed to doing only the nasal tip. My criteria for choosing a hospital were: since the tip will naturally look natural anyway, I put aside flashy, polished, natural, straight-curved, straight nose lines and all that, and wanted a nose-specialized doctor, especially one specialized in revision nose surgery, whom I could consult with smoothly. I’m usually the type to think things over before acting rather than doing things right away, but here I thought, “Oh, this is the place, go go.” I scheduled the surgery right away for next week and even had blood drawn!
@CCTV What should I do about this? It makes me uneasy, but somehow I don’t think my dad or younger brother would be able to watch it. What if they say acquaintances aren’t allowed?
