Hehe, about 5 years ago I had surgery using ear cartilage, donated costal cartilage, and silicone, but at some point it seemed to gradually become upturned, and everyone kept asking what was wrong with my nose So in the end, after doing a ton of online research and going to consultations, the consultation at ㅂㅇㅇ was good, and it seemed like a hospital with decent reviews, so I had revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage by Director Oh Seung-il. Some other places said we should start by removing the silicone, but I absolutely could not accept my nasal bridge becoming too low lol
When I went for the consultation, I said I wanted something glamorous, you know? They asked if I had photos of noses I wanted, so I showed several screenshots from reviews, influencers, and models, and they said they were too high lol They said my current upturned nose needed to be brought down, and if I got too greedy with height, the cartilage could show through and it could become a serious problem, so I got firmly told off lol After looking at all the photos I had gathered, they said it’s important to do it in a way that suits each person’s face lol It was a little embarrassing, but they were right.. I admit it.. yes yes.. The director used a photo of my face and Photoshopped it on the spot to show me a virtual simulation, and that helped a lot. When they really raised it sharply like the photos I brought, it looked kind of strange and separate from my face, so yes yes... I get it, but still, make it glamorous.. At the very least, please make it a natural-glamorous nose, I kept saying persistently... lol right up until just before surgery.. lol
After the surgery, I saw the director and they explained the surgery. They said the donated costal cartilage from before seemed to have been absorbed, and that they changed the silicone to a slightly lower one.
The next day, when I came in to have the nasal packing removed, I asked again whether it really turned out glamorous, and they said they had made the shape as much as possible while showing me photos taken in the operating room lol My eyes were filled with tears so I couldn’t see clearly, but it seemed to have come out pretty.
But at week 1, after removing the splint, it was the mentally unstable period lolol I can laugh now, but back then I seriously felt like my nose still looked like an upturned, snub nose, and when I looked in the mirror I could only keep seeing my nostrils, so I thought I was going crazy? The director said it would come down well once the swelling went down, but I couldn’t take it in lol But as time passed and the swelling went down, the shape gradually started to show lol Last week I went for my 3-month follow-up, and they said there were no major issues and it seemed to be settling well. People around me also all say I did well to get the surgery, so I feel good lol The pain from the autologous costal cartilage was less than I expected. Of course, it wasn’t completely painless lol Now it’s totally fine. But the autologous costal cartilage scar does remain a bit. They said that’s my constitution, and that it will fade over time. Well, later I might cover it with a tattoo or something lol
