Review after 4 years since double-jaw surgery
I wrote a 3-year review last year, but my thoughts have changed since then, so I’m posting a 4-year review.
As I’m heading toward my late 20s, the sagging that I didn’t really notice last year has become very noticeable over the past year. Of course it must be a phenomenon due to aging, but with the side effects of double-jaw surgery added on, my nasolabial folds are worse than other people’s, and my jawline is not visible at all. At this age, I’m even thinking about a lift, and although I don’t know whether it will be effective, I’m also saving money to get Ulthera. Because my lips roll inward, I look petty and small-mouthed, so I find myself looking for lip filler. Because of the stress from my nose widening, I also looked into rhinoplasty, did both online research and in-person consultations, then dropped it, and now I’m doing online research again. Even if I went back anyway, I would have chosen to do double-jaw surgery, but even so, I often think I should have looked for other methods more before doing double-jaw surgery. At that time, I was having such a hard time from the trauma of malocclusion and a protruding lower jaw that I didn’t want to live, so when I heard they would do double-jaw surgery for me, I just went ahead with it. Since it was recommended by an acquaintance, I thought it would be okay and didn’t look for more information, but if I could go back to that time, I think I would look for more information and manage things better. I don’t regret having double-jaw surgery. Because after double-jaw surgery, I overcame my trauma, so even if I went back, I would do it again. But I think I regret not looking into it more.
For double-jaw surgery, you should do it assuming sagging will definitely happen. If you’re considering double-jaw surgery because you want your face to become smaller or shorter, I really don’t recommend it. Double-jaw surgery for cosmetic purposes really isn’t cosmetic... Even if you do double-jaw surgery, that purpose doesn’t have a dramatic effect, and although bone was shaved, facial fat and chin fat put the face back the way it was. Because the lips roll inward, the empty space on the face looks wider, and the nose spreads, so a person’s impression looks really dull. In the end, I’m looking for yet another surgery.
I hope you think very carefully, again and again, before getting double-jaw surgery..
