Before<Before / Can you see that assertive dorsal hump catching the light all by itself and making the contour look uneven?>Before<Before>Before<Before>After<After>After<After>After<After>A hooked nose had been a serious complex for me since I was young. Even so, the reason I put up with it and did not fix it until now was that, other than the dorsal hump, I did not think my nose looked particularly bad from the front... and because I had heard a lot that rhinoplasty is dangerous. But I had always had recurring stress about my nose, and before COVID, back when we did not wear masks, whenever I had to stand on the bus, I always had this fear that everyone was only looking at my nose and criticizing it. I extremely hated showing my side profile too; after COVID, whenever I took off my mask, my stress peaked because I wondered if people seeing me for the first time would look at my ugly nose and secretly think I was someone who only looked okay with a mask on, like an old witch. So I felt like I had endured it long enough... and with the mindset of just going for it, I ended up having dorsal hump removal surgery. I had such a strong fear of side effects, and because I wanted this surgery to be the end of it and did not want to worry about revision surgery or anything else regarding my nose ever again, I did not do osteotomy, nasal bridge augmentation with an implant, or nasal tip elevation with cartilage at all. I only shaved down the 'dorsal hump.' It has been one week, so there is bruising and swelling only where the dorsal hump was, making it look like the hump removal is slightly incomplete. I do not know whether that swelling will go down or not, but for now it does seem to have disappeared a lot. The doctor also said my dorsal hump was indeed on the larger side, and because the procedure was done without an incision, I had been informed in advance that perfect removal could be difficult, so even this much is really good to me. Well, as you can see, it is not a pretty nose. By getting rid of the dorsal hump, I finally have an ordinary nose. Someone out there may be considering surgery with a nose like my current post-op nose. But I am very satisfied.
