Hello. I am a woman in my 30s who had surgery with Dr. Kwon Jae-hyun at the end of September last year and am now entering month 11.

Almost a year has already passed, and looking at the changes during that time, I guess the biggest change is that swelling has now disappeared from most areas except the tip of the chin. (Still, on days when I drink alcohol or eat a lot of salty food, there is still a little residual swelling at the chin tip and inside the mouth?) The line has finally come out a lot, so you can basically consider it nearly complete. Chewing is no problem now, so yesterday evening I chewed jerky just fine hahaha (Palace jerky is good..)

First, to go on at length about why I decided to have this surgery.. Originally, while I was not objective about my own appearance, someone I liked told me I wasn’t pretty and my body wasn’t good, and I thought, I really can’t live like this. I wanted a drastic change through small techniques like dieting, various dermatology procedures, exercise, style changes, makeup, and so on, but in the end I realized that nothing would change unless I changed the fundamentals, so I decided to have facial contouring surgery.

I didn’t think I was hopelessly unattractive to begin with, but for someone like me who wanted a pure, delicate look, large cheekbones, a slight retruded chin, a strong square jaw, protruding brow bones, and so on did not match my desired look. After realizing that and personally going around diligently to roughly 10 clinics in Gangnam, Apgujeong, Cheongdam, and so on, I chose this plastic surgery clinic because it fully satisfied my needs.

1. Because I prioritized safety, there was a separate anesthesiology director on site 2. Whether the line I wanted and the line the doctor pursued matched exactly 3. Whether the doctor would not dismiss me no matter what question I asked and would explain in detail what direction the surgery would take 4. Whether the doctor considered the overall harmony of the face 5. Whether the doctor was a board-certified plastic surgeon 6. Whether the doctor had sufficient experience 7. Whether the doctor was not too old (this is just my preference)

Anyway, after considering all of this and doing online research plus in-person consultations for almost half a year, I had surgery with Dr. Kwon and safely became prettier! I kept the surgery a secret from my family, friends, and workplace, so I don’t think the recovery process was easy either. For about the first week, swelling was at its worst and my mouth didn’t open much, so I ate mostly soft liquid foods. For swelling care, I separately rented a radiofrequency device at home and did a lot of home care as well. I took an hour-long walk every evening, and doing a lot of cardio really helps, so please do that too. I also took the three-piece swelling medication set, pumpkin juice, pumpkin porridge, and so on.

For 3 months after surgery, it is not yet the time when the line comes out perfectly. So it is a period when you worry every day about whether there is nonunion or whether the swelling has gone down. Still, whenever I asked Manager Hwang Sung-won, she answered everything kindly, so I was able to get through the difficult 3 months safely.

At around one month, you just look like someone who gained weight, and at three months the line slowly starts to appear. At 6 months, you might mistakenly think, is the line complete?! but I guarantee it goes down more from there haha. Looking at my 6-month photos now, I looked totally puffy I am at 11 months now, and I think the line is almost fully complete. But since they say swelling can continue to go down little by little even up to 1 year (maybe even 2 years), facial contouring is a surgery where you have to watch the progress over a long period, so I think it is better to do it as early as possible.

Even immediately after surgery, Dr. Kwon, the anesthesiology director, Manager Hwang, the front-desk staff, and the nurses all took turns continuously checking whether anything was difficult or whether I needed anything, so even though I went alone for surgery, I felt reassured. Since I had the surgery secretly without telling people around me, I was a bit anxious, but the doctor stopped by again before leaving work to check my progress once more, so I felt relieved.

As for satisfaction with the surgery, I can honestly say without lying that it is the highest satisfaction I have had with anything in my life.

Once I had a face shape that matched the look I wanted, everything became more harmonious. As my features became more harmonious, lighter makeup and more feminine styling suited me better than before, and people around me responded well too. People around me who have no idea I had surgery remember me as if I had always been this pretty. Wherever I go, I am remembered as someone who was originally pretty haha.

My only regret is that I wish I had done it even one year younger and enjoyed these appearance-related benefits longer. I have no regrets at all about the clinic I chose. The desk staff are consistently kind, and Manager Hwang, the operating-room nurses, and even the doctor on duty who looked after me on the day I was hospitalized made me feel that they truly cared for me, so I am really grateful.

Lastly, I cannot guarantee that having facial contouring surgery will make you look like an influencer or Karina, but I want to conclude that it is a surgery where Dr. Kwon Jae-hyun helps bring out the maximum beauty within your own face.

Thank you for reading this long post.
