Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Removal Day 11 Review

<Natural nose - Surgery - Removal> Before <Natural nose - Removal (I don’t have the exact same angleㅠㅠ)> Donor costal cartilage (nasal tip) + silicone + lateral osteotomy + internal nostril reduction I had everything removed 9 months after getting it done.

I also received an AS revision at the first-surgery hospital, so my nose was opened 3 times in 1 year lol.. The reasons for removal were 1) an arrow-like nose when smiling (fixed nasal tip) and a changed impression, and 2) foreign-body sensation, and all of them improved as soon as everything was removed! As a bonus, my nostrils became rounder too, and my nose has been soft from right after removal until now. I’m still careful about touching it too much!

I went to removal consultations and revision surgery consultations, and both places told me that, shape-wise, my nose was not one that absolutely needed removal or revision surgery. It wasn’t that the surgery had gone wrong either.. But I didn’t like it at all, it looked long and like an arrow nose, I didn’t want to keep thinking about the foreign-body sensation and everything, and I missed my previous image, so I chose removal! My current shape is almost exactly the same as my natural nose. I had it removed before even a year had passed, but I can’t really find any differences. Before removal, I even wanted to widen my nostrils again after the nostril reduction, but maybe because it loosened since it was internal, or maybe because it spread after removal, it seems similar to my natural nose! I also can’t tell the difference from the lateral osteotomy.

I had the removal done near Sinnonhyeon Station, and I went to three places for consultations, including two of the top three places in Apgujeong. They all commonly recommended full removal + cartilage repositioning, and the prices were similar. One place in Apgujeong said that if the support strut was removed, the nose would become upturned, so they would lower it with cartilage repositioning, and the other two places said there would be no upturning or drooping, and that I could think of it as going back similar to my natural nose. I debated a lot between two places, but chose the place I trusted most based on reviews + consultation, and I don’t regret my decision. I think I did so well choosing removal instead of revision surgery.

I hope everyone chooses a good hospital, succeeds with removal, and graduates from nose concerns. I hope you don’t get stressed. I’ll write another review later~!
