Before<Before surgery><Day 1 after surgery>As you can see from the pre-op photo, I had a hump nose and no columella, so my nose looked short...! So this time, I had surgery at Sinsa Station ㅋㅇ(ㅗㅝㄴ) on the earliest available date! When you go around for consultations, you get that gut feeling... Ah, this is the place! That feeling, so ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It was Monday afternoon... afternoons are really hard because you can’t drink water, so I don’t recommend it ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Morning seems better! You also get super hungry...! I was basically forced to fast until around 9 p.m..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I went to the hospital, waited, washed my face, gargled, and went into the operating room! They checked my blood pressure, put an IV in my arm... did that nose hair removal thing, and because my hair is long, they tied it up with a towel and taped it tightly..! Then they disinfected my face.... When they disinfected inside my nose, it stung like crazy.... So I was breathing hard through my mouth.... then I had sedation anesthesia... This time I was dreaming a lot...? and then suddenly I thought, Ah.. I’m in surgery right now, aren’t I...? So I think I said something, but maybe the director said it was okay...? I don’t remember well, but I vaguely remember hearing the director’s voice near my head and thinking, Ah, he’s operating from the head side.. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Anyway, when I woke up because they called my name, I had both a splint and cotton in my nose...! I had zero presence of mind and just wanted to go home.. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ But even after it ended, the director checked everything before leaving..! He asked if I had any questions... and I just asked, It went well, right? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’ll know after a week when the splint comes off, right? Shaky shaky
And everything written in reviews, whether on YouTube or here, is true..! With some weird unfounded confidence, I thought, I really don’t think it’ll hurt at all? Because when I got painkillers and came straight home, it didn’t hurt, actually..? I just thought, would it hurt about as much as getting a piercing...? But as the painkiller wore off... around 7 in the morning..? I thought my ears and nose felt like they were going to fall off..?
But.... more than this pain, because my nose was blocked and I was breathing purely through my mouth.... whoa... Wow, when I slept on the day of surgery, I really learned what it means for your throat to dry out completely. Even if I closed my mouth, that scratchy feeling.... This was the first time I realized air goes out through your nose when you drink water...!! I hate swelling so much that I also had to sleep sitting up, and seriously, for real.... I couldn’t sleep... Total sleep time on day 1 was about 3 hours??? Still, because I kept doing cold compresses, I’m not very swollen yet...! Will I swell more tomorrow? I hope I don’t!! Since I can’t sleep, I’m going to do tons of cold compresses!!!
I went to the hospital again today and had dressing done.. The director here is kind, so I really like it...! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I said, I’m not that swollen, right, he told me to do cold compresses even more diligently! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Ah, the problem is that the cotton comes out on day 3?! It feels like blood is flowing from my nose, so I do think taking it out then is right... But... thinking about breathing through my mouth for 2 more days now... is hard...!
But since it’s only the very day I came out after surgery, I don’t know yet... but if it really turns out well... I understand why people call the nose a new stepdad...! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Somehow I feel an inner closeness ㅎㅎㅎ
