I had lived just fine my whole life with monolids, then suddenly got hooked on double eyelid surgery, had a consultation, and even had the surgery that same weekend, so I brought a detailed review I’ve gotten a lot of information here for a long time and lurked a lot too, so I’m writing this carefully with affection!! I already had my own image, and I thought if my eyes suddenly became dramatic overnight it would be too obvious I had surgery, so I made them natural, just enough to make only my eyes look clearer!! I’m the cautious type, so I went to a total of five consultations, and the reasons I decided on this place were: first, a one-doctor clinic specializing in eyes + 3-year aftercare period + consultation with the director and consultant!
This may not be true for every clinic, but the large clinics I went to had a bit of pressure to make a reservation, and when I said I wanted to think more, they immediately acted like they had nothing to lose and let me go (those of you who have gone to consultations will relate, right^^). Among them, this place seemed to manage reservations well, so I went in right away with almost no waiting, and the consultations with the director and consultant were really so good! They explained everything about my eyes and the direction for improvement in detail, and it felt like they were accepting my opinions to operate as much as possible in the direction I wanted..!?? After the consultation, I also liked that the kind consultant organized everything from the consultation details to the cost and sent it right away through KakaoTalk lol. Even after looking around at other clinics, I kept thinking of this place, so in the end I went back for a second consultation, and when I apologized for coming back, the consultant actually said she was grateful.. I paid the deposit right away and fixed the date for Saturday!
Non-incisional ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty, upper canthoplasty These were the procedures I had, and thankfully, when I was going around for consultations, the directors said my eyes were suitable for both non-incisional and incisional methods, but since an incision from the first surgery felt a bit burdensome (in case double eyelids didn’t suit me), and I don’t have a lot of fat on my eyelids, I chose the non-incisional method!! I also had uneven Mongolian folds on both eyes, so I decided to do epicanthoplasty for that part too haha. The right side wasn’t as bad, but the inner corner of my left eye was slightly covered by skin, so I added upper canthoplasty for that too!! The director said upper canthoplasty is something you can do if you want the eyes to look clearer and that it wasn’t essential (she told me to keep thinking about it until the day of surgery,,), but since I was already having surgery, my mindset was add everything, add this too, so I boldly went for it lololol
A few days before surgery and even on the day itself, I kept communicating with the consultant and she carefully checked whether my condition was okay, and then the long-awaited day.. haha. Because of sleep anesthesia, they told me in advance that putting clothes on and taking them off would be hard, so it would be better to wear button-up clothes, so I wore a short-sleeved shirt. I signed the surgical consent form, and after finalizing the design with the director one last time, preparation was done haha. The moment before entering the operating room was memorable: to enter the operating room, you had to disinfect your body in a whole-body sterilizer!! So that part felt strangely fascinating and reassuring(?) lol. I also directly confirmed with my own eyes that the inside of the operating room was clean, and then I relaxed and went straight to dreamland lolol. In the middle they woke me up and the director kept asking me to open my eyes, and while I was wandering somewhere between sleep and reality, the surgery ended.. I moved to the recovery room and did ice packs, and you can get up after resting enough.
If you look at the line on the day of surgery, there was less swelling than expected, right..? Sometimes when I read posts from people who just had surgery, they say it hasn’t been long but the line seems too low, or once the swelling goes down won’t it become hidden double eyelids? I really hope people know that the line can stay the same!! and only the swelling can go down
I had surgery on the weekend, so I got disinfection on Monday!! I had the stitches removed that Saturday. Once the stitches are removed, that’s when the swelling really starts going down fast lololol. Even when it was a bit hot at night, I walked diligently, and I diligently alternated cold and warm compresses using the packs the clinic gave me haha. Before surgery, my friends were like, if you were going to do it, why didn’t you do it earlier, why now, and everyone reacted like, not really necessary, but when I showed up after doing it, all they said was that it was much more natural than expected and that there was no swelling at all lololol. They asked why I didn’t do it earlier, and honestly I also wonder why I only did it now, so I feel a little regretful haha
The most fascinating thing after surgery is definitely that because I did ptosis correction together, I open my eyes less with my forehead! Originally, if I wanted to open my eyes wide, I used my forehead? eyebrows? but now there’s none of that at all, definitely haha. It’s so fascinating. After double eyelid surgery, putting on makeup and going out feels fun too ^^bb...
