I had nose surgery 10 years ago at Wonjin Plastic Surgery in Apgujeong.
I had a short nose and a low nose.
The director looked at my nose and said, "You want it long and high, but not dangerously so, right?"
Since that matched the nose I wanted, I said okay, and because it was recommended by someone I knew, I trusted the director and had the surgery.
For up to 6 months after the first surgery, I did not realize the swelling had not completely gone down yet, and since it was not very noticeable and my nose had become just a little longer and a little higher,
I kept rationalizing it to myself.
After 1 year, people did not even know I had gotten nose surgery....
I went back to Wonjin in Apgujeong again and had a consultation to complain and ask whether I could have revision surgery.
The original director was gone and had been replaced by a new director... It felt like the previous one may have caused a lot of problems...
The new director readily said he would do revision surgery for 1 million won,
and I asked him to make it as high as possible while making sure it did not look upturned,
but he said uncertainly that it could become upturned while raising it..
I had local anesthesia. Both the first and second times.
For the first surgery, I think it was over in less than 1 hour?
For the second surgery, I think it took about 3 hours...
Since it was local anesthesia... I had sensation everywhere except my nose, and I could hear all the conversations.
During surgery, we had agreed to put in 5 mm, but the nurse said, "Doctor, we only have 4 mm,"
and he said, "4 mm and 5 mm are the same, it is fine"... I wanted to say something,
but I could even feel the blood splattering... so I could not open my mouth or eyes.
After the surgery ended, I was satisfied. It seemed higher and also looked like it had become less low.
He had made it into a beoseon-shaped nose. But as time passed, it gradually became a little upturned,
and when the weather was hot it lifted more, and when it was cold it came down...
Ha... Since I had already had surgery twice, I thought, "What would even change if I did it again," and just lived somewhat satisfied.
This time, I followed a friend to a consultation, and I found out there are many types of silicone and so many surgical methods.
The consultation manager comforted me by saying that since it was 10 years ago... they probably did it that way back then...
So I am conflicted. I am older now... Should I really do it again, or should I live with a long nose while I am even a little younger...
I am debating it.
