For convenience, I’m writing in a casual shorthand style
It’s already been 3 years since I had rhinoplasty during the COVID era.. By “implant-free” above, I meant that I didn’t have artificial implants such as silicone inserted. I had a hump osteotomy, then septal cartilage + ear cartilage were harvested below that, and the surgery focused mainly on the nasal tip. It looks completely natural. I don’t remember whether they did nasal tip cartilage suturing or not;;
When consulting with the doctor, I think they said you can’t raise the nasal bridge with cartilage, but my bridge was originally high, so it wasn’t the part I wanted to fix, and I don’t remember. Because my nasal tip shape was a bit round and had a bulbous-nose feel, I asked whether I also needed alar reduction, and after measuring my alar size, they said my alae weren’t large, and that the cause of the bulbous look wasn’t width, but that the nasal tip was drooping and looked blunt. They said it would improve much more if they slightly raised the nasal tip height rather than doing alar reduction.
Pros: Naturalness (you can pretend you were born with a pretty nose) Cons: Naturalness (zero artificial beauty, nobody knows you spent money on it)
+ Progress - Right after surgery: I think I had a splint on for about a week, and until it was removed, the swelling went all the way up between my eyebrows, so I thought I had become a short upturned nose. I thought my surgery and my life were ruined. My face also looked like a fish-faced person. It was only okay because it was the mask era; at home I was depressed every day, looking up revision surgery hospitals; - Right after the splint was removed: I was completely satisfied. I took tons of selfies. As long as I covered the horizontal line from the stitch marks on the columella area, it was OK - Now: It has just become my nose. The height has gone down compared to the beginning, so it’s not perfect, but I can pass it off as my naturally pretty nose. Until right before I entered the operating room, I kept emphasizing again and again that I wanted it natural, and the doctor said it might feel a bit lacking because it would get much lower after the swelling went down, and that was true....... heh (Since I wanted improvement in the nasal tip shape more than nasal bridge height, that may be why I like it.)
