Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Preparation and tips to know before 230-degree cheekbone reduction with posterior fixation + double-chin muscle tying? Sharing

I had 230-degree cheekbone reduction and double-chin muscle tying together at [Clinic A]. First, I had a lot of fat in the lower face and prominent lateral cheekbones, so my face looked bulky T_T. My double chin was severe from both the front and side, and my cheekbones also protruded. If there is anything to prepare before facial contouring surgery, you have to fast for eight hours, so eat anything you want before surgery if possible ^^. You cannot eat meat or chewy foods for several weeks afterward, and there are restrictions. On the day of surgery, wear the most comfortable clothes possible!!! You are already disoriented, and when you leave you have to think about getting dressed and gathering your things. Even if you look a little shabby, put social dignity aside for a moment and bring loose, easy-to-wear clothes. On surgery day, listen to the director explain the planned design, then go ahead with surgery. Because it was not an intraoral incision, I had sedation. I just went to sleep and woke up to find the surgery completely finished. Everyone scared me by saying facial contouring hurts a lot, so compared with how worried I was, it was just a numb, tingling feeling. There was no intense pain or suffering like I had imagined. The area where the double-chin muscles were tied just felt tight. The area under my eyes spread out and looked like I had dark circles, but it disappeared quickly. Bruising around my neck seemed to remain yellowish for quite a while. Even after one week, swelling remained around the front cheek area and under the jaw. At one week, they removed all the stitches around the sideburns, under the jaw, and behind the ears. Some people say it hurts, but for me, not at all? Instead, I had to describe it as the sensation around my ears gradually returning—it became a little dull and numb. Even now, pressing the temple feels strange. Other than that...? Not being able to open my mouth wide was inconvenient, but I mainly eat clean, soft foods for dieting, so it was not too bothersome except when laughing or something. X At follow-up, they took a CT scan, confirmed that the cheekbones had been shaved, and the director explained that I was recovering well. There was some swelling making the double-chin area slightly bulge, so I asked about it when I went to the clinic. They said it would almost completely adhere upward by around six months, and instructed me to keep the tape over the incision for two months. By around two weeks, most of the major swelling had gone down! Other than hyperbaric oxygen therapy and laser treatment, I barely had any aftercare. Those were provided by the clinic, and aside from gently massaging it, there was not much else to do. Oh, and some people massage aggressively to reduce swelling quickly after surgery, but doing it excessively can open the scar, so I recommend only gentle massage, as if you were caring for the area..! I still like it, but I guess I need to monitor the progress until six months.
