I am a bride-to-be who is a little older. While preparing for my wedding, I lost weight and my eyelids became droopy. With barely two months until the wedding photos, I was in a hurry, but I did not want to fail by going just anywhere, so I narrowed it down to about three of the most famous places and went for consultations. They said my eyes looked hollow after weight loss, but I had also lost orbital fat, my eye-opening strength had weakened, and my habit of using my forehead when opening my eyes was creating more overlapping creases.
Most doctors recommended lightly stitching the double-eyelid line with buried sutures, doing ptosis correction to improve eye-opening strength, and adding micro-fat grafting to fill the hollow area. I told them the photo date was soon. I passed on clinics that said it was impossible or recommended an incision, and chose the one that aimed for maximum improvement with minimal risk. The price was similar at all three clinics.
The fat for my upper eyelids was taken from my thigh. I was under sedation, so I do not remember how the surgery was done. Immediately afterward, tape was placed over my eyes and bruising appeared, but I decided to focus on cold compresses. I used them diligently for about a week; I am not sure whether the slightly lighter bruising shows in the photos.
I wanted to document everything, so I tried taking front-facing photos, but they do not capture it well…. At one week, I had the stitches removed and went to have the tape taken off. The incision line was a little red, but I could see the overlapping crease had been organized, and the micro-fat graft clearly eliminated the hollow look. That alone made me look less tired, so I was satisfied for the first stage.
Now it was a battle against swelling. Even though it was buried-suture surgery, I had undergone three procedures, so I felt I needed to reduce the swelling well. The photos were probably around day 12. I am now a little over two weeks out; even then, the line was already settling when my eyes were open, and the reddish line was fading toward pink. Since I can go to work wearing a mask, I focused on swelling care everywhere—between home and work.
Everyone was surprised that I had surgery instead of a procedure before the photo shoot, but I had no time to worry about that. I had to get the swelling down within about a month… I am still drinking pumpkin tea while writing this. Anyway, I will reduce the swelling a little more and take photos at the shoot to post later. If you want to know the price, leave a comment or message me and I will share it.
