I was upset because it made me look older, so I went to consultations at a few places. A friend had revision rhinoplasty with Director Oh Seung-il at VN and it went well, so I tagged along on the day my friend went to the hospital and had a consultation too. After taking a CT scan and examining me, he said my nasal bridge was high and made my face look even longer, so it would probably be better to remove the nasal bridge implant entirely, and we decided to correct only the nasal tip drooping. At other places, I had also heard that because it was revision surgery, they would definitely use donated rib cartilage or autologous costal cartilage, but Director Oh said I’m at an age where the possibility of autologous costal cartilage calcification? is high, so we decided to use the septal cartilage as much as possible and, if it wasn’t enough, use donated costal cartilage together. That’s how I had the surgery
It was a bit painful having my nose packed for a day, but looking back after time passed, it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal. Everyone around me says it was good that I removed the silicone. Now that the silicone is out, I feel a bit more at ease too. Since there is still swelling, I’m bothered that my nose looks bulky and slightly upturned. The director says it will improve with time. Still, I think it’s better than it being droopy. The nasal bridge does have a slight contour irregularity, but I was told in advance that this can happen to some extent after removing silicone, so although it’s disappointing, I’m trying to accept it. I hope the shape stays well
