I'm not really comfortable posting photos;; Zygoma reduction surgery is, how should I put it.. I feel like it's not really a surgery I would recommend unless you personally have a complex about it. Of course, for me, it had been a long-standing complex, so I'm satisfied with the surgical result, but the recovery process wasn't simply easy, and I'm still recovering even now. Usually, when you have surgery involving bone, nonunion is what you worry about most, but thankfully I didn't have any nonunion. However, since the bone position is moved and an incision is also made inside the mouth, it seems like quite a few other side effects? can occur even if it isn't nonunion.
In my case, since about a month ago, I started feeling a tightening sensation in the right cheekbone area every time I chew, but thankfully they said there was no problem on the CT. But since they don't really know the reason.. well, there's nothing I can do. Aside from that, my left gum still feels numb and tingly, and when I look up at the ceiling or in the cold winter, I still have a feeling that only the teeth on my left side are being pulled. At the hospital, they just said that can happen. Also, hair doesn't grow on the incision scar area in front of my ear, so I have to keep my sideburns grown out. Honestly, these are symptoms I can live with by just accepting them, but when I think that I may have to carry them for life, it does feel a bit daunting;; Anyway, everyone, I hope you carefully weigh the gains and losses from getting cosmetic surgery and make a good decision!
