It was a consultation for revision rhinoplasty. I had inflammation from silicone, so I developed slight contracture, making my nose a bit short and upturned. The columella is recessed. From the side, it looks cut off ㅠ I dislike flashy results and like a natural shape. I wanted to improve the columella and nasolabial angle, so the consultation focused on those areas. I went around for consultations with clinics specializing in natural-looking revision surgery!
ㄴㄴ Clinic (Director ㅈㅈㅇ) Not ㅏㅏ. It’s the place in Apgujeong Rodeo. A hospital famous by word of mouth.. Honestly, I liked their lines the most, and the natural, rounded nasal tip was my style, so I managed to book a consultation with difficulty and went. There was about a 10-15 minute wait, and there were people who had come for surgery from the morning. There was a before-and-after photo album in Chinese, and a Japanese patient came too.. They texted me saying to bring my CT scan if I had one, so I paid a lot to get it and brought it, but I don’t think they looked at it ㅠㅠ lol The consultant also said it in a way that felt like, “I don’t think this will be needed,” so it felt like I wasted money.. lol The consultation with the director took place on the 3rd floor, and he didn’t explain the surgical method in as much detail as I expected. He just briefly said something like he would use autologous costal cartilage and do it this way. He edited the photos they took with Photoshop, but because my columella is so recessed, there were limits to Photoshop, so I didn’t really like the Photoshopped nose itself. He asked if I had any questions, so I asked whether using autologous costal cartilage for the nasal bridge can cause warping, and he just said something along the lines of, to avoid warping, you have to know costal cartilage well and use it well, and that he has his own method. There wasn’t a detailed explanation, and somehow the consultation ended more emptily than I expected ㅠㅠ lol He didn’t examine my nose in detail and just touched it once.. lol When I mentioned that my skin is thin, he spoke easily, like it was no big deal and that wrapping it with dermis would be fine. The consultant said the director’s technique is good, and because he uses only autologous tissue, the chance of inflammation is low. But since I’m someone who originally had an inflammatory reaction, they have aftercare such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and PRP injections, and if there is an inflammatory reaction, stem cell injections too. She said stem cell injections would cost extra.. Also, she said this place really shapes the columella and nasolabial angle beautifully, but because they do it using costal cartilage, I may feel a foreign-body sensation at the end of the philtrum area on the nose side, and that can’t be helped. She said some people feel it less and some keep feeling it.. This is probably like cat surgery. The nose shape is very much my style, round and pretty, and the director seemed to have a good aesthetic sense. But my skin is really thin, translucent, and fair, so even during my first surgery, all the silicone showed through, my nasal bridge looked bluish, and my nasal tip was red ㅠ ㅠ Since they would use costal cartilage for the nasal bridge.. My original bridge is almost nonexistent and extremely low, so even if they wrap the costal cartilage with dermis, over time the dermis would eventually be absorbed and I feel like the nose would end up looking obvious.. So I don’t think I’ll do it here.. Still, if I hadn’t had the consultation, I think I would have kept lingering regret because the nose shape itself was so my style, but after the consultation I let go of that regret somewhat. Oh, and I heard there is no anesthesiology specialist, and the director is a thoracic surgery specialist, so I wondered if that’s why he likes autologous costal cartilage. (But someone else said he isn’t thoracic surgery ㄷㄷ and that he’s a surgery specialist. I also only heard this, so I’m not sure.) As rumored, the price is high.. For me, with revision surgery and even alar lift using autologous costal cartilage, it was over ten million won. Even with a discount, it was over ten million lol ㅠㅠ
ㄱㅅ Plastic Surgery (Director ㄱㄴㅅ) There’s no review discount, so it’s hard to find before-and-after photos here too, and there are no before-and-after photos on the website either, so I was really curious about this place. They say he does natural results, specializes in revision surgery for extremely difficult noses, and that he was a student of Dr. Baek from 101, so I visited. The facility was nice and clean. The consultant said only what was necessary, and she wasn’t especially kind, more businesslike. The director seemed like a very good person and examined my nose in detail. I went to the operating table and lay down, and he looked very carefully with a flashlight. The director also personally took photos and edited them with Photoshop. However, my nasal septum was deviated, so he said that if he lowered my upturned nose, the chance of my nostrils becoming more uneven would be high, so he would need to detach and reposition the septum ㅠㅠ Then he said it would have to be done under general anesthesia. He said it would suddenly become a major surgery.. And for the nasal bridge, he said we should just not do it. He said that with my skin characteristics, since even the filler I have now shows through bluishly, if a prosthesis goes in it would look extremely obvious, and even if wrapped with dermis, it would eventually become a very obvious-looking nose. He asked how about just getting filler for the bridge.. He also didn’t recommend dermis because the buttock scar can be very large, and absorption rates vary, so a situation could happen where only the scar remains and the dermis gets fully absorbed. Since I had silicone inflammation, he also didn’t recommend silicone. I really got the feeling he was a conscientious doctor. He asked very detailed questions. Looking at the before-and-after photos, it seemed like he performs surgery naturally, and strangely, he really had the feel of Dr. Baek from old 101 haha. However, rather than the line itself being pretty, it felt more like he made extremely difficult noses look human. And for me, improving the columella and nasolabial angle is important, but there didn’t seem to be much improvement there, and the nose he edited in Photoshop felt like it became a long nose, so I passed. Oh, but while the director was showing me several before-and-after photos, the consultant suddenly came in and, as if rushing him, kept picking up and putting down the chart, folding paper, and walking around, repeatedly signaling with her body for him to finish quickly lol The director still kept showing me photos lol As soon as I came out, the next person for consultation went in. Hmm.. But because it was general anesthesia, the price range was also high ㅠ It felt like the surgery was becoming too big.. There was no discount.. The hospital was really clean and the director was good.
I also went to ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ and ㄱㅇㅈ, but I’ll have to write about those later. Whew lol After going to four places in one day, even writing reviews takes a long time.
