I could have had LASIK too, but the director said they recommended and advised LASEK more, so I went with LASEK. It's been one month since LASEK, and my vision was corrected well from -4 to 1.2, so I'm very satisfied with the surgery. Many people intentionally choose LASIK because of the pain after surgery, but the surgical process is also more comfortable with LASEK, and if you've worn contact lenses a lot, it feels similar to the level of foreign-body sensation and pain you get when a lens shifts around, so I think LASEK is also fine. (Of course, the degree of pain may differ from person to person.) I recovered quickly enough to work a part-time job two days later, and the pain was minimal.
