This is my review on day 10 after removing the pins from my chin! I had facial contouring about a year and a half ago, without cheekbone surgery and only the jaw, so I only had a plate at the tip of my chin. I decided to have surgery because my biggest issues were seeing the pins on X-rays and my aversion to the pins themselves. It also felt a bit strange to think I’d still have pins in my face even when I became a grandmother.... The reason I chose the hospital called The Standard of Contouring was, first, because it was an event price and inexpensive; second, because it had a one-doctor representative director system specializing in contouring; and because surgery was available right away on the date I wanted. There were absolutely no additional charges such as separate anesthesia fees, and the event price was exactly as stated, so I was able to have the surgery at a reasonable price. They said the hospital had not been open for very long, but Director Oh Jung-seok and the manager were very kind during the consultation, and even when I asked lots of questions on the consultation day and the surgery day, they explained everything well. I asked because I was considering doing a little shaving as well, but they said in my case it was not necessary at all. I liked that they did not recommend any unnecessary or excessive surgery whatsoever. The hospital facilities were clean without anything unnecessary, and it was nice that I could recover sufficiently in a private room during preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery. The surgery under sedation really didn’t take long at all (about 30 minutes..?), and I even had a CT scan right after surgery before leaving. I did cold compresses until day 3 and exercised only with light walks. The size of the intraoral incision seemed similar to the incision range from my contouring surgery, and while it can’t compare to facial contouring surgery, surgery is still surgery, so there was more pain and swelling than I expected. The sides didn’t swell, and only the front chin area swelled like a protruding lower jaw. I think the swelling peaked around day 4. Now it has been about ten days, and the major swelling was mostly gone around one week. Now only a slight residual swelling that only I notice remains, and I’m working on reducing it. Compared with facial contouring surgery, there are almost no food restrictions, and recovery seems much faster! Whether it’s facial contouring or double jaw surgery, this is just my personal opinion, but I strongly recommend having the pins removed.
