I had bulbous nose surgery at a hospital I went to through an acquaintance’s referral, and I’m someone who had the nasal bridge (Gore-Tex), nasal tip (septal cartilage + ear cartilage), and nostril reduction all done!
During the consultation, I kept emphasizing from the start that I only wanted it to look natural, so maybe that’s why they recommended Gore-Tex. Of course, they also said my skin was on the thin side.
Anyway, I went in for surgery, and seriously, I closed my eyes and opened them and I was in the recovery room. (Honestly, I was extremely worried..)
On the first day, maybe because it was right after surgery, there was no swelling at all, and the swelling started the next day... haha
My eyes swelled up tightly like I’d had epicanthoplasty, and there was bruising next to my nose too, so I was shocked..
The cotton packing was removed on day 3, and it didn’t hurt. It felt really refreshing, like unclogging a blocked toilet...?
After removing the cotton, I also received hyperbaric oxygen therapy and a swelling laser? and then it was over.
And from that day on, I took Dangguixu-san, which is said to be good for swelling, three times a day, and the effect was amazing.
The swelling went down day by day, and by day 4 after surgery, almost all the facial swelling was gone, and I think only about 10% of the bruising remained.
The splint was removed on day 7, and the stitches were removed at the same time, and it hurt a lot.. (I teared up a little)
But after taking off the splint, I seriously thought the surgery had failed.. It looked like clay was stuck on my nose, so I was really depressed..
The line also wasn’t like my original nose line, but was lifted like Pinocchio’s nose, so every time I looked at it, I sighed,,
Fortunately, of course, it was swelling, and while I kept taking Dangguixu-san and walked for an hour at a time, almost all the swelling went down.
Of course, the nasal line also came down more, and when I went for a follow-up 2 weeks after surgery, they said the nasal tip would become slimmer and come down a bit more, becoming a straight-to-slightly-curved line like my original nose line!
After surgery, even my parents, who had opposed it, said it was better that I did it, but my friends’ reactions were half and half.
But even the friends who said before was better said that it looked natural enough that strangers wouldn’t notice, so I felt proud inside.. haha
