Reason I decided on double jaw surgery My asymmetry was severe, so I had no confidence even taking photos and had no proper front-facing photos, and because of malocclusion, it was difficult even to bite food off, so I decided to do it.
The reason I chose oral and maxillofacial surgery was that while looking up double jaw surgery reviews online, this place seemed to provide the most thorough postoperative care after double jaw surgery, and when I looked at the cases operated on by Director Shin Hee-jin, I felt it would fit me well, so I had surgery with Director Shin. In reality, the design was done well too, and I’m satisfied.
Day 1 It was better than I expected, but if there was anything uncomfortable, breathing was much harder than I thought Because of facial swelling, I couldn’t even drink water properly,,, After the surgery ended I was so sleepy, but having to stay awake for a while was the hardest part Day 2 Each day somehow passed, but even New Care made me feel more nauseous than expected, so I couldn’t drink much Using a humidifier in my own way made it feel a bit better.
Day 3 Really.. I ate things like soup with a tiny plastic spoon. Still, I was hungry..
Day 4 My nose opened up, so I could breathe freely through my nose and it felt livable!! They removed the tape, but once the force that had been holding it with tape was gone, it felt like I swelled up more Now the swelling starts
Day 5 My face was more swollen, but breathing and eating became better than expected. I often went out for short walks for a little while!! I think walking is effective!
Day 6 The day the swelling was the worst Still, I got a bit used to it and could talk a little…
Day 7 By evening, the swelling started going down more than usual! The bruising had moved down a lot toward my body. Since the cheek swelling went down a bit, when eating, my mouth opened enough to completely fit a small teaspoon in (before, I had to push it in)
Week 2 I had the stitches removed, so the feeling of stitches catching decreased, and it felt more comfortable. There was no major change in swelling for about three days, and I plan to keep watching the major swelling gradually!! My mouth started opening little by little, so I became able to eat with a large plastic spoon too
Week 3 Now it seems like the major swelling is slowly going down, and I hope it goes down quickly.! They said the major swelling starts going down from the 1-month mark, so I’m looking forward to it. And I definitely feel the asymmetry has been corrected. I’m excited to see how it changes as time passes.
