Eye Surgery Reviews

Review of consultations for my first double-eyelid surgery (4 places) - help me decide

I went to a total of 4 places in one day. I'd be thankful if you look with me and share your opinions too.

Eye style: I use my forehead to open my eyes, monolid (a bit of inner double eyelid), was told I have severe epicanthal folds, wide horizontal eye length Clinics visited: ㅌㅌㅇ, ㅇㅁㄹ, ㅂㄹㅂ, ㅍㅇ

ㅌㅌㅇ - single-doctor clinic - The only friend around me who had it done did it here and it came out well, so I went with high expectations (consultation fee 10,000 won) - Incision, epicanthoplasty, upper canthoplasty ㄴThey said my eyelid skin has some thickness, so they only recommended incision (non-incisional is possible but not recommended) - They also marked the line extremely thick (since it was my first consultation, I thought this height included swelling, but after visiting 4 places, I realized this place was the one that marked it especially thick; I didn't like the line either) - Even though it's a single-doctor clinic, among the 4 places, the doctor here felt the stiffest - It felt burdensome because they pushed incision too strongly. This was the only place among the 4 that recommended incision, so I ruled it out

ㅇㅁㄹ - ㄷㅇㄹ - As expected, the wait was hell (consultation with the consultant around 40 minutes in, then 40 minutes later they came and said the doctor had to go care for a patient, so I had to wait another 20-30 minutes) ㄴIt was ridiculous, but... I said I'd go outside and came back an hour later, and then I had the doctor's consultation within 5 minutes - I don't know if it was because the consultation was so late, but the doctor was unexpectedly kind - Natural adhesion, upper canthoplasty, ptosis correction ㄴ Epicanthoplasty could be done or skipped. They said if it bothers me, I can do it, but they'll do what I want (we discussed not doing it) ㄴ For ptosis correction too, when I said I use my forehead a lot, they said if I do it together, the natural adhesion would loosen less (I don't know anymore whether this is sales talk~)

ㅂㄹㅂ - single-doctor clinic - Maybe because I went after ㅇㅁㄹ, having no wait was so comfortable - The doctor drew my eye structure while explaining, so it was easy to understand - Natural adhesion, epicanthoplasty, upper canthoplasty ㄴ They said that after double-eyelid surgery, the skin covering the eyes will fold and become visible, so the part where I use my forehead may disappear. They said ptosis correction probably isn't really necessary - The consultant said the doctor fixes the fold well, so it doesn't loosen easily - It was comfortable because there was no pressure to add procedures

ㅍㅇ - single-doctor clinic - It's a single-doctor clinic, but the wait time was severe. I just kept sitting for over an hour - After I asked several times, the consultant who was supposed to see me kept getting delayed, so in the end another consultant saw me - Natural adhesion, upper canthoplasty, ptosis correction ㄴMore expensive than other places - The doctor was kind - The lines they marked all felt kind of similar, but strangely, by a tiny difference, I didn't like it - Even though it's a single-doctor clinic, the wait, response, design, and price were all not great, so I ruled it out

--------------

Postoperative care was all pretty similar - 1 year AS, progress checks from 6 months onward - Swelling laser and scar-tissue injections provided without cost (only the period during which they can be provided differs) - Initial sedation anesthesia -> local anesthesia, visit within days 6-8 to remove stitches

---------------

For now, I booked ㅇㅁㄹ and ㅂㄹㅂ, and I'm scheduled to consult at ㄴㅅㅎ next weekend, but the surgery date I want is probably already full, so I'm planning to go just to consult

I don't know if I'm just insensitive, but - The designs at ㅇㅁㄹ and ㅂㄹㅂ were similar (but I also thought that even if I keep going around for consultations, unless the doctors' tastes are completely different, they may be similar - I'm curious what everyone thinks about this too!) - I'm first debating between ㅇㅁㄹ (factory-style) vs ㅂㄹㅂ (single-doctor clinic) ㄴ But still, since many people have done ㅇㅁㄹ-ㄷㅇㄹ, I assume there is that much skill - I'm wondering whether ptosis correction is the right thing to do ㄴSince I'm doing it anyway, is it right to do ptosis correction too? I do use my forehead a lot, but if I really do double-eyelid surgery, could it be unnecessary? If anyone knows how common the side effects are, please help! ㄴ If later I think, I should have done ptosis correction.. they say I can't do only ptosis correction... that it has to be done together with double-eyelid surgery, so I'm wondering whether it's better to do it together while I'm at it...

---------------- Right now I'm leaning more toward ㅇㅁㄹ, so I'd appreciate help with what you think! There aren't many people around me who've had it done, so I'm only referring to real reviews and comments
