Stream-of-consciousness warning
I started getting them 2-3 years ago, and it really opened up a whole new world. I go around the time my jaw Botox is wearing off and get them together. I don't think I have compensatory sweating. (It feels like I sweat from my philtrum, but if it came out as much as it originally did from my armpits, my mask and everything would be soaked. Since that's not the case, I guess I always just sweated there.) The first time I got it, I was surprised because my palms didn't sweat at all, but from the second time on, that didn't happen.
Since it's basically a hand injection, I tend to just get it from the chief director.
The effect is really good, and the problem is the pain. It feels like getting thin slices taken out of your armpit, about 15-20 shots per side. According to the doctor, the larger and more widely distributed your pores are, the more likely your sweat glands are also spread out widely... ha...
I don't tear up, but I do break out in a cold sweat. It's the kind of pain right before tears would come out. If you're someone who says you're weak with pain, apply numbing cream for an hour before doing it... If you leave it on longer, it's a little less painful. It's still painful, though. These days I just do it for as long as they tell me to ㅠㅠ.. The pain only lasts a few minutes, but the effect lasts a long time!
The consultant said she didn't find it that painful even without anesthesia, but for the palms and soles she said she really sobbed. Hearing that it's more painful than the armpits, I don't think I'll ever get it in my life.
Apart from the pain, while the effect lasts, life is seriously so comfortable. I felt kind of sad that everyone else had been living with such dry armpits and I was the only one who hadn't enjoyed it until now.. If you're debating it, just go for it ~~
But seriously, I don't recommend doing the palms or soles..
