I had surgery for deviated septum, rhinitis, osteotomy for a slightly crooked nose, slight trimming of a hump, and nasal tip surgery (septal cartilage).
After surgery, on the inside, my right septum isn’t like it was before surgery, but it still feels like it’s slightly deviated to the right,
and even when I put my finger in my nostril, I can feel it’s slightly bent to the right. Breathing is of course better than before surgery,
but there’s nothing like that at all on the left side. Maybe because only the right side is deviated and blocked, when I sniffle, only the right side of my nose makes that slightly blocked sound..
Could it be that during surgery they didn’t anticipate the septum size and didn’t cut enough?..
Or should I consider this much to be within the normal range?..
The doctor didn’t really deny it, and said that after surgery, as the tissue recovers, it starts filtering dust and things like that,
and that mucus going down into the throat is what a normal nose does.
In my opinion, I think it’s normal for both sides of the nose to get larger later as the tissue recovers,
but I don’t think asymmetry even after surgery is really right, and it feels like they were making excuses.. Is this usually a common case??
Oh, and the septal cartilage placed in the nasal tip still feels very hard. Will it get better around 6 months??
