This is my first time writing a post haha I don’t know whether this bulbous nose surgery actually corrected it. The nasal ala area seems like it was only raised, and if anything, it looks blunter than before surgery, and the osteotomy was also done asymmetrically. The deviated nose doesn’t show much in photos, but I don’t think it was corrected. (They didn’t mention my deviated nose at the first consultation.) The most stressful thing is that the width of my nasal bridge and nasal tip are too different. It gets wider as it goes down, and on top of that, the materials inside the nasal tip are so bulky that when I grab it with my hand, it feels like a whole fistful.. Is it just me who feels this way..? It’s almost been 1 year since surgery, and I’m thinking about revision surgery, so please give me your opinions!!!!

I wanted to finish it with my first surgery, so I think I looked into about 18 places? I was scared of silicone, so I was planning not to do the nasal bridge if possible, and for the nasal tip I was only thinking of ear cartilage and septal cartilage. But most hospitals recommended nasal bridge + nasal tip, some recommended osteotomy too, and some recommended only alar reduction, so I got confusedㅠㅠ Then the last place I went for a consultation was so bad that I was coming down, and there was a hospital in the same building that I had seen on YouTube, so I just went straight in for a consultation.
First of all, the director was from Seoul National University and was a woman, so I thought she would be more meticulous and understand my needs well. After the consultation, she said I needed lateral osteotomy, nasal bridge (AlloDerm), bulbous nose correction, nasal tip (septal cartilage + ear cartilage), and alar reduction. She said because my skin is thick, it wouldn’t become completely slim. I told her I wanted it to become smaller without spreading as much as possible, and at least, even if it was big like Hyeri’s nose, I wanted it to be pretty. I also said that if I did the nasal bridge, I wanted it to extend straight and cleanly like Seo Yea-ji or Go Youn-jung. After the consultation, among all the places I’d been to so far, she explained things the most clearly, the aftercare seemed okay, and I really liked that silicone wasn’t needed. In particular, on Gangnam Unni it was listed as a hospital that discloses CCTV, so I thought it would be safe and made a reservation for about 2 weeks later. The director told me to bring all the nose photos I wanted, so I mainly brought photos of Go Youn-jung, Song Ji-hyo, Nana, and Apink Bomi’s noses. The lines are all different, but I think I mainly had celebrities in mind whose nose was close to straight from the bridge to the tip and not too high, but looking at it now, even the straight lines and heights are all different..
But on the day of surgery, after signing the contract and having the final consultation, the story was a bit different..? I went with my mom so she could watch the CCTV, but they said the CCTV was for real-time monitoring for emergency situations, not for showing to guardians. Still, since my guardian had come, I thought it would probably be okay and moved on. Then the doctor came in and said that because my nose was deviated, if it got higher it could become more noticeable; she would match it as much as possible, but there were limits, so I should correct it later with filler. She also said that once they opened the nasal tip, if there wasn’t enough septal cartilage, they might use mesh.. I had chosen this because I didn’t want artificial implants.. But it was already the day of surgery, and they said my own tissues would fill the mesh area and the mesh would dissolve later, so I thought it would be okay.. and had the surgery. Before surgery, I washed my face, gargled with disinfectant solution, and went to the operating room. They shaved all my nose hair and put disinfectant solution inside my nose to disinfect it. In the middle of all that misery, I had only slept one hour the day before, so I fell asleep even before the sedation anesthesiaㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I woke up, I was extremely cold, but they took me to the recovery room, and after about two hours I woke up and went home. After 4 days, I went to the hospital, they removed the tape from the cartilage harvesting site and disinfected it. The day to remove the hemostatic cotton was on a weekend, so they said if I really wanted to take it out, I could do it by myself at home, so I removed it. Then at 1 week, I had the stitches behind my ear removed, and received skin care and laser treatment. At 2 weeks, I went and had the splint removed, stitches removed, swelling laser, oxygen treatment, and got a 3-month prescription for scar-tissue medication. When the splint was first removed, my nose was so big and high that I thought, do I have to live with this nose forever.. I thought it was ruined, but they said because my skin is thick, the nasal tip swelling would go down late. Every time I went, the director did consult with me, but since it was before the swelling went down, whenever I asked anything, she only told me to wait because more swelling would go down, so there wasn’t really anything to ask.. Then around two months in, my nose kept smelling like inflammation, so I went in, and they said something similar to sinusitis had developed and prescribed medicine. After 3 months, I figured they would just keep telling me to wait for the swelling to go down, so I didn’t go. The alae spread out again a bit, maybe because the skin healed and all the swelling went down. Still, I can let that go because I think it’s better than reducing too much at once and looking pinched.. I imagined a straight line from the nasal bridge to the nasal tip, but I’m so stressed because the shape gets wider toward the endㅠㅠ The osteotomy area also went in well on the left, but the right went in less, so the shadows fall differently and it shows. So when I contour, I pay much more attention to the right side. Of course asymmetry is natural, but it feels severe.. It’s almost been a year now, so I’m planning to go again tomorrow. At least they won’t be able to say it’s swelling, right?
