2-year review of SMILE LASIK

It’s been a little under 2 years since I had SMILE LASIK surgery

Before surgery, my vision was around -8 in both eyes, my corneal thickness was about average, and I had a little dryness and glare/halos

Even now, my vision is staying around 1.0, and when I look at electronic devices for a long time, dryness inevitably makes my eyes feel gritty, but compared with the days when I wore contacts, it feels very manageable. As for glare, I don’t know if I’m an unusual case, but the glare that used to look split apart because of preoperative astigmatism is gone, and now lights just look softly spread out I don’t drive, so I have nothing to say about night driving..

My surgery was in the evening, and on the day of surgery the world looked blurry as if frosted glass had been placed in front of my eyes, and my eyes stung so badly that tears kept streaming, total chaos. But when I woke up after sleeping, it was like my eyes had just opened

Back then I was anxious, so I turned off the lights in my room and lay there like a corpse, but honestly I think normal daily life would have been fine

Anyway, I’ve escaped ultra-high myopia, and now I’m at the point where I’m forgetting the inconveniences from when I wore glasses, so I’d recommend it in most cases. My quality of life after surgery improved so much

One-line summary: medical technology is the best
