I know the swelling obviously hasn’t fully gone down yet, and I think everything else still needs a lot more waiting, and I do like it overall, but incision length (the length cut with the scalpel, yes) is separate from recovery, right...?
As you can see in the photo, when looking at it in the picture, the incision length on the left eye goes almost all the way to the outer horizontal end of the eye, whereas the incision length on the right eye only goes a little over half the horizontal length of the eye. To be exact, there’s about a 0.6 cm? difference.
What worries me most is that if the length of the cut, meaning the incision length, differs this much, even later after the scar fades, the double eyelid lengths might become uneven or the difference might be really noticeable,,, and I also wondered if maybe the doctor briefly misread the lengths on both sides during surgery,,,
When I asked the clinic directly, they said the reason the incision lengths are different is because I had asymmetrical eyes, you know? So while doing ptosis correction, they can also adjust the position or shape of the asymmetrical eyes where possible, and while correcting? anyway matching that asymmetry, the incision lengths can end up different. But they said if I don’t like the length or if it still looks uneven after the shape settles, I should come back.
What I’m curious about is, when correcting asymmetrical eyes and all that, since they’re uneven to begin with, do they usually make the incision lengths different too? I’m worried that correcting the asymmetry might actually make the double eyelid line lengths uneven ㅠ And since the incision length difference won’t really show anyway once the scar fades later, if the shape turns out well, is it such a minor thing that I don’t need to consider revision surgery? Would it be a bit unreasonable to get revision surgery later just for this...? Should I just wait until the line settles, and if the lengths are uneven then, go to the clinic and ask about revision surgery?..?
