Since my cheekbones had always bothered me so much, I went to consultations here and there and thought about it a lot, and in the end I had surgery at Batang on 8/2. It was my first bone surgery, so I was scared, and I think it was a surgery I worried a lot about, afraid it might go wrong. On the day of surgery, I fasted and went to the hospital, and I was so nervous, but the nurses were kind and everyone tried to help me relax. The director also reassuringly told me the surgery would go well, so I think I was able to have the surgery comfortably. On the first day after surgery, my throat hurt so much because of the anesthesia, so it was really hard, and actually the facial contouring itself hurt less than I expected. I kept suffering because my throat hurt, and for two days it felt like a battle with swelling. The pain was at a level where it didn’t hurt if I took Tylenol, and I had to sleep lying straight on my back, and it felt like my nose had a cold, so not being able to breathe was a bit painful. I also had to wear the compression band all the time until day 7, so it felt a little stuffy Everything else was so, so okay, so that was a relief. My mouth could open about as much as one joint of my pinky finger, so for about 3-4 days I mostly ate porridge and soy milk. After that, I could open my mouth somewhat and chew, so I could eat mainly soft foods! Until about days 4-5, the swelling was pretty full, so a mask was essential when going out, but around day 10 the swelling went down, and if I covered the sides with my hair, no one could tell!! As the swelling gradually went down, my facial contour became visible, and it was clear that my face had become completely smaller People around me also said my face got smaller and that I looked prettier, and that was the moment I felt all the hardship had been worth it.. To manage swelling diligently, I went on walks often and drank a lot of swelling-reduction tea, and it is going down faster and better than I expected. I think it is also important to keep doing warm/cold compresses diligently whenever possible!! After the required period for the compression band is over, wearing it often whenever you have time seems to help the soft tissue adhere well to the bone and help the swelling go down. It was a surgery I worried about a lot and was very scared of, but it didn’t hurt as much as I expected, and I’m still very satisfied with the results, so I feel like I did the right thing. I hope the swelling goes down more quickly and my face gets even smaller haha. I’m very satisfied!!
