The director explained only the necessary things clearly They said they would use autologous costal cartilage, but that it would probably suit me better to raise the nose height more They said I didn't need alar reduction either. Oh, just in case, I should say this: I have no intention of using donated costal cartilage, and I plan to get the revision done only with autologous costal cartilage..! A lot of the posts I've seen from everyone here are about whether to use donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage.. But I heard donated costal cartilage can also get inflamed and can also be resorbed.. So my conclusion is that choosing the safest material is the right thing to do!
There are also way more people saying the donor-site area for autologous costal cartilage gets better over time, and it seems like almost nobody regrets it, so from the very first consultation with the manager, I think I naturally moved straight to talking about autologous costal cartilage
Even for revision surgery, if you prefer having choices, I think it's important to go to the hospital and check carefully whether there are places that pressure you into autologous costal cartilage!!
