<This is how my eyes look now> First, when I initially had double eyelid surgery, I had it done with the buried-suture method and did not have canthoplasty or ptosis correction. Actually, I had planned to have ptosis correction too and went into the operating room, but while having the surgery under local anesthesia, when I tried opening and closing my eyes, the ptosis correction felt too tight and uncomfortable, so I said in the operating room that I would not do it and only had the buried-suture double eyelid procedure. But after about 2 months, once the swelling went down, I became really bothered by the things I had already been concerned about: my eyes looking far apart, the inner corners looking bent because of the epicanthal folds, and the front of my eyes looking sharp like hooks. So I’m looking into epicanthoplasty (upper epicanthoplasty).
*ㅇㄹ Plastic Surgery They charged separately for epicanthoplasty and upper epicanthoplasty. Honestly, I don’t understand this part. From what doctors say on YouTube, upper epicanthoplasty is a procedure that essentially has to be done when doing epicanthoplasty, so they said it is a subset of epicanthoplasty. But charging separately for the two-! Honestly, that was the first thing that made me lose trust, and my left eye (right side in the photo) is relatively closed off while my right eye (left side in the photo) is relatively open, but without mentioning that, they just said they could open it up to a maximum of 2.5 mm, which made me lose trust a second time. Maybe they were just telling me the maximum number of millimeters they could open, but the consultant also had the inner corners of her eyes opened too much, so it felt very overwhelming during the consultation and looked very obviously done. I felt like this clinic’s aesthetic did not match mine.
*ㅅㅇㅇ Plastic Surgery I went for an eye surgery consultation, and I was taken aback because they did not take photos. Usually they take photos, put them up on the screen, and talk while looking at them. I thought it was strange, so I asked the staff member who guided me at the desk, and they said this place does not take photos. When I went in for the consultation with the director, the director asked what kind of eye shape I wanted, and when I said I wanted a somewhat softer image, they said that to correct the asymmetry of the inner corners and to smooth out the bent part caused by the epicanthal folds, I would probably need epicanthoplasty (upper epicanthoplasty) on the left eye (right side in the photo) and upper epicanthoplasty on the right eye. They also said it would be good to raise only the front part of the existing buried-suture line a little so that the overall line becomes about a semi-outfold line (it is currently an in-out fold). I was a bit hesitant about raising the front line (because my eye-opening strength is not that great. So I was worried I might actually look sleepy!), and later when discussing costs with the consultant, I said I was also considering doing only the canthoplasty. Then she said the image would not change much and she did not recommend it, speaking as if asking whether I would be okay with it since it probably would not make me much prettier, and she did not separately tell me the cost for canthoplasty alone. I did not like that this place does not take photos, does not tell you separately how much canthoplasty is and how much revision buried-suture surgery is, and that the consultant gives her opinions on the part I have to decide whether or not to do.
Both were clinics I had high expectations for, but they were below expectations
