I’ve had double eyelid surgery twice, plus medial and lateral canthoplasty. My original eyes had severe ptosis and looked very heavy/frustrated.
My first surgery was honestly a spectacular disaster. I had sausage-like eyelids, couldn’t even open my eyes fully, and anyone could see they were weirdly uneven. The surgical scars were so bad, and the outline was set strangely, so the crease got pinched here and there and it was a mess. My eyes somehow looked rectangular. I lived with really overwhelming-looking eyes, then after becoming an adult, I had revision surgery.
Back then, things like ptosis correction weren’t widely known among regular people. Lower canthoplasty wasn’t common either… So I don’t know exactly what procedures they did during the revision At the time, my ptosis also hadn’t been corrected properly, so I couldn’t even open my eyes well.
They fixed it so I could open my eyes properly, corrected the pinched crease line, and made it just like an in-out line. The result was truly the best possible outcome from eyes that had been completely ruined. It was at the level of, wow, they really worked so hard on this, thank you so much.
But as I got older, gradually.. My eyelids started sagging and I lost fat, so my eyes started changing again. That’s when, for the first time, I started thinking that the medial canthoplasty I had during the first surgery was excessive. The Mongolian folds keep forming. Of course, I did have a little even after the revision, but they’re getting worse and somehow my impression looks strange. Maybe my aesthetic sense has changed too..
Anyway, this got long, but Are the Mongolian folds or the line strange enough that I should get medial epicanthoplasty restoration? Once I noticed it, it keeps bothering me, but I’m wondering if it just feels bigger because I’m having appearance anxiety these days, or if other people also think it looks like my inner corners are opened too much, so I’m posting this.
