The reason I did it was... it probably doesn’t show in the photos, but my eyes are on the small side. I was tired of always putting force into my forehead and lifting my eyebrows when walking around. And when I used double eyelid tape, I looked much prettier. So I got greedy. I shouldn’t have.
Putting force into my forehead is the same before and after double eyelid surgery. I hate taking photos. Even when I take them, I try to take them from the side so the asymmetry doesn’t show. My eyelid skin is thick and the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is narrow, but after incision surgery plus ptosis correction, my eyes became too intense and my overall impression became burdensome. They were originally uneven, but now they are blatantly, burdensomely uneven. One eye looks like it is not opening fully, and the other eye looks like it is wide open.
When I went to the hospital one week after surgery and asked them to release the ptosis correction, they said, ‘With time, the opening strength of both eyes will naturally balance out,’ and ‘Ptosis correction can be released anytime even after several months, so let’s watch it a bit longer.’
Now that a year has passed, I regret it so much. I should have grabbed them by the collar back then and demanded they release the ptosis correction.
I probably can’t go back to looking like the previous photos, right?
