As the title says, if there is still residue left even after dissolving under-eye filler, is it difficult to expect the under-eye area to look smooth after lower blepharoplasty?
About 6 months have passed since I got under-eye filler, but I developed imbalance between both eyes, bluish show-through, sagging, etc., so I had a consultation for lower blepharoplasty. The director said he really hates patients who come in after getting filler lol, and that the surgical results do not come out clean. Anyway, he said we should dissolve the filler first, so I dissolved it over 2 sessions (I had it dissolved at the dermatology clinic where I got the filler, and they said it dissolved cleanly).
A month later, I went back for another lower blepharoplasty consultation, and as if he knew this would happen, he said the filler had not all dissolved (that filler itself absolutely never dissolves completely cleanly lol). That was my first mental breakdown lol He pointed to the white areas and said he didn’t know how much more might be left underneath
While I was flustered, he said that even after surgery it would still be uneven and would absolutely not come out clean, and that since I seemed like I would want a perfect result, he would not operate on me. He also showed me before-and-after photos of surgical cases similar to mine.. (Looking at the photos, maybe because I wasn’t mentally prepared, I did hesitate a little.) He said dissolving more filler was not possible because the original skin could become sunken.. and said he is selective with patients for lower blepharoplasty too. Anyway, I came out feeling like I had been kicked out. I feel a bit dumbfounded, shocked, and upset
At the dermatology clinic, they said it has the same components as water and all dissolves, and asked what kind of clinic says it doesn’t dissolve lol Like the clinic above said, does it really not all dissolve, and even after lower blepharoplasty will it remain uneven, making it impossible to get a smooth result?
I had gone to consultations at a few places, and since this clinic only does eye surgery and specializes in revision surgery, I thought I should do it here. But now I have to look for clinics again as if starting over, so please recommend some clinics too
