So I impulsively started looking into double eyelid surgery..
I went to several places, but if I wanted to make my fierce eyes look gentler, there were quite a few clinics that recommended doing both lateral/lower canthoplasty + lowering the outer eye corners Maybe I don't know much about surgery, but isn't lateral/lower canthoplasty usually done when making the eyes look gentler? Together with lowering the outer eye corners too..?? Personally there were some diagnoses I couldn't understand, but here they said I didn't need lateral/lower canthoplasty and that double eyelid surgery alone would be enough to make my impression much softer They said if I did lateral/lower canthoplasty, my current image could change too dramatically That part made me feel there was no overtreatment, and the AS period was 3 years, the longest among the clinics I visited Maybe because it was a private clinic, I felt they paid a lot of attention overall, so I think that's why I decided on it
The surgery was incision + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty Until the day before surgery, the consultation manager kept asking if my condition was okay through KakaoTalk, sent precautions, and checked carefully, so I think I was able to wait until the day of surgery without any problems Even a useful tip that after anesthesia wears off you can be out of it and it can be hard to put clothes on and take them off, so it's good to come wearing button-up clothes.. I had wondered, would briefly changing clothes really be that hard? but honestly, if I'd worn clothes without buttons it would've been uncomfortable
During the consultation, I heard that the cause of my uneven eyes was partly a skeletal issue too They said the area near my eye bones is asymmetric, so the uneven eyes show a lot For the line, I said a high inline to thin in-out line, but I said I wanted the surgery to focus more on matching the eye size than on the line! Because it was an incision, early after surgery there was swelling and it felt awkward to open my eyes, but I used the compress pack the clinic gave me for cold compresses for about 4 days, and after that I diligently did warm compresses, so it went down fairly quickly..? It was somewhat less than the incisional swelling I had worried about, so I safely got the stitches removed and walked a lot, and by about week 2 it settled more naturally than I expected!
Amazingly, just as the director said, even though I didn't do lateral/lower canthoplasty, my impression became much softer, so everyone around me thought I had done lateral/lower canthoplasty too.. I said I had fairly severe ptosis, so I did ptosis correction, and because of epicanthal folds I only did epicanthoplasty, and everyone said my impression became very puppy-like,, It feels like my image changed naturally to exactly the degree I wanted, so whenever I hear that kind of thing, I feel great..bb I think I understand why everyone says to avoid clinics that overtreat If I hadn't gone around to several places, I might have added unnecessary canthoplasty and had surgery.. Please make sure to know that just because you have fierce-looking eyes, lateral/lower canthoplasty isn't necessarily the answer!!
