I had my first surgery at a large clinic, but I didn’t know how skilled the surgeon in charge was. It loosened up, so I got one side revised under AS, but that was also done by a different surgeon, so I ended up with uneven eyes. So I cut out all large clinics. There may be good large clinics or surgeons with decent skill, but I just wasn’t drawn to them. Even the clinics that are famous among men had a bit of a contrarian vibe, and since they were large clinics, I didn’t go lol
1. A clinic introduced by a local acquaintance I’m not going to include the name here. The specs were good and the confidence was good, but they said to leave everything to them, so I didn’t go through with it.

2. ㅇㅇㄱㄹ / ㅈㄱㅇ They seemed skilled, and the consultation was detailed and neat. They also gave off confidence, and I liked that they explained all sorts of things without me even having to ask. Since it was a revision surgery, they said scars here might remain, and they analyzed my eyes and explained in detail why the previous place had failed, and so on. When the consultation was wrapping up, they asked if I had any questions, and I suddenly had one, so I slightly flinched for a moment, but they caught that right away and told me to ask lol. I could kind of feel the surgeon’s personality there. Definitely detailed.
But there were some reviews from women and some popularity, yet there were almost no reviews about men’s eyes, which was disappointing (they talk about how they’re good with men’s eyes, but I filtered them out because of that lack of honesty). And the price was a bit high too. 500,000 won more than place 1. But after looking up a lot of reviews, it seemed like they had a fixed base price, so the price didn’t change a lot depending on the person lol. I was about to book because it was expensive but still appealing, but because of budget issues and since I wanted to visit one more place, I went.
This was also incisional ptosis correction. I figured I probably needed ptosis correction.
3. ㅎㄴ / ㅊㅈㅎ This place was popular back when it was part of a large clinic, and after becoming independent, there were a lot of reviews about men’s eyes too, so I became interested. I compared the men’s-eye reviews and photos from place 2 and kept looking, and since men would probably end up with a mostly hidden double eyelid line anyway, it might not look like a huge difference, but the line was subtly more my style, so I went in with some expectations.
I printed photos out and brought them to the consultation. Since it was a revision surgery, they asked about my past history and very cautiously asked me about whether I wanted an incision, probably because men especially tend to dislike incisions. I also had a strong aversion when I had my first surgery 5 years ago, so I got a partial incision then, but I also realized that partial incision was basically meaningless. This time I wanted to finish it once and for all, so I said I didn’t mind an incision, and they seemed pleased lol. They explained ptosis correction too, and when I showed the surgeon review photos and said, “I came because features like this made it feel more refreshing and I liked that,” he said, “That’s my style!” He said my eyes have a long horizontal width and are the kind that can turn out well with revision surgery, so he was looking forward to it, and that was it.

Compared with place 2, place 3 was a little lacking in detailed points. Maybe place 2 was just really analytical? lol I’m not very good at thinking of questions, so there were some things I didn’t ask. But my taste matched the line there more, so place 3 drew me in more. Also, because it was the early stage after opening and they were running an event, the price was expensive but still felt like, at this price, I should do it.. so I booked right away. Even just three places left me pretty tired, and I wanted to get surgery soon so the swelling could go down even a little sooner..
This is just a tip based on my very personal experience, but for men who are thinking about eye surgery for the first time and are still young, I hope you don’t become too fixated on having no double eyelids. I’ve only had 5 years, but even now I’m shocked that the places with the most loosened-up lines among my uneven eyes show some sagging skin. It’s now folding into a double line. I guess when you get older, it would have become a double eyelid anyway... The issue isn’t a hidden double eyelid itself, but that if hidden double eyelids are done oddly, they can become burdensome. I hope you look up reviews of places that create harmonious lines well and visit many clinics. I’m not a specialist, so I can’t really recommend buried stitch, incision, or partial incision methods, but partial incision is basically no different from buried stitch, and the surgeons I visited said it was just wordplay. I’m stressed out by my eyes loosening and becoming uneven, so I’m going with an incision, but everyone should think it through carefully~~
For the women reading this, both place 2 and place 3 are said to be good with women’s eyes too, so if you want a private clinic, look up the information and go for a consultation. Maybe because I have a contrarian streak, I dislike large clinics and wanted surgeons with good skill, so I only went to places that aren’t mentioned much in the app lol
