After <Day 1 after nose surgery> I had surgery today to lift my drooping columella!
It was done under sedation anesthesia, and I didn’t even know whether I was asleep, whether I was having surgery, or whether I had wanted to have it done.
First of all, I think I understand what people mean when they say it feels like riding a roller coaster.
I thought I was awake the whole time, and I felt like I was busily going here and there, then at some point I realized this wasn’t reality.
After that, I started hearing sounds from the operating room, heard the suction machine, and even felt my head being turned, but I thought I might interfere with the surgery, so I didn’t move and just kept my eyes closed.
In reality, I wasn’t in a state where I had the strength to speak or move anyway.
It doesn’t hurt yet, and I should quickly eat and take painkillers. I think it’ll hurt once the anesthesia wears off.
They said I need to go in once on Monday for disinfection, and the stitches will be removed after a week.
The people doing consultations at the counter were really kind.
After the surgery ended, the doctor said, “The surgery went well. You can hear me, right?” and my head automatically nodded.
I’m sad I couldn’t even say thank you or that they worked hard.
Anyway! It was a day when I felt that doctors are amazing and patients are amazing too.
I’ll slowly post updates on the swelling going down as I go about daily life.
