Hello! I'm the person who posted several worried posts on a community board because I had so many concerns. Today marks 2 weeks, and I had even the inner stitches removed. I'm going to organize my 2-week review once again. I'll share my progress again after one month!
Mine was revision rhinoplasty. My original nose wasn't that bad-looking, but while looking into various options to correct a crooked nose, about 10 years ago I rashly got cosmetic surgery that I didn't even really want (silicone nasal bridge, alar reduction on only one side of an asymmetric nose). Within a month, I had the silicone removed, and the asymmetry got even worse...(especially the nostrils). After that, I gradually couldn't look at people properly and felt like they were only looking at my nose, so I think it was very bad for me psychologically. It has felt like a burden on my mind, and I've been uncomfortable with it until now. This time, I made up my mind and wanted to have surgery that would make my nose look more refined without changing too much from my original nose shape. My personality is quite picky and sensitive, so I carefully researched hospitals in advance through various apps, and the place I chose was Pleasure.
What I liked about Pleasure was:
1. As I carefully watched the director's YouTube videos, I strongly felt, in a rough sense, that the director seemed very meticulous, and I felt the same when I met him in person. 2. Looking at actual reviews, there were many reviews with a natural feel that was not excessive, and I liked that point the most. 3. I went to a total of 3 hospitals, and the consultation here was the most comfortable, and they proceeded at a reasonable cost as well.
So I proceeded with only the nasal tip using septal cartilage, through the columellar strut method. I also requested that while removing flesh from the nasal bulb, they use the remaining tissue to slightly raise the nasal bridge, and I brought several photos and explained fully that I disliked shapes like this and liked shapes like that. And it was also the part I was most concerned about: since my nostrils were asymmetric (the part that failed from the nose surgery 10 years ago), I also had surgery to match them. The condition of my nose must have been very difficult, but compared to before, it feels to me like it has been corrected significantly. The scar has not fully healed yet, so I don't know how it will turn out, but I am really satisfied. This is where I felt that he is truly a very detail-oriented person, and from the front, because of the side effects of the alar reduction, my alae also looked asymmetric, but now they are symmetrical, so I am very satisfied and happy. They said there is still a lot of swelling left in the nasal bulb, so I'm looking forward to the future even more.
To summarize the parts I clearly wanted before surgery and how it looks after surgery:
*Originally, my columella was also deviated and my nose was short, but in the photos, the columella has been corrected into a straight line, and as the columella lengthened, the line became more refined (it doesn't show well in photos, but if you look at the side-view photo, you should be able to tell clearly). *Because the bulbous-nose flesh (nasal bulb) was also removed, once the swelling goes down, I think my nose will become slimmer and prettier, so I'm already excited. (This was also the part I was most worried about, but the director told me the swelling is still severe, so for now I'm setting my worries aside.) *For the nasal bridge, they slightly added the tissue removed from the bulbous nose to the bridge, so I now have a nasal bridge without it looking obvious. *If you look closely at the pre-op photos, in the photo, the right nasal bulb has more flesh, so it looks round, protruding, and asymmetric (like there is no contour), but after surgery, it has been corrected to some extent. I think it will get even better once the swelling goes down.
Compared with flat photos, the change feels stronger when seeing it three-dimensionally in real life, but if you only look at the photos, it may look like the bulbous nose was not corrected. Even though there is a lot of swelling, I am satisfied. Above all, I really like that it is more symmetrical than before, and I am satisfied because the overall nose shape has been refined! It feels like all the parts I wanted have been addressed.
I think I can now face people with confidence! I was so out of it that I couldn't thank the director, but I want to express my thanks here at least. Thank you :)
