Liposuction Reviews

Day 3 after facial liposuction, already seeing my under-chin line + why I also got Botox

Everyone, I am on day 3 after facial liposuction under the chin and on the side cheeks. Before the procedure, I simply thought, “A double chin is fat, so don’t I just need the fat under my chin removed?” lol. But during the consultation, they looked at the lower face as several separate areas. I disliked how the area under my chin continued roundly into the chin when viewed from the side or at an angle, and how a double chin appeared as soon as I lowered my head even slightly T_T. I said I did not want my entire face made hollow, only this stuffy lower face tidied up. The doctor separately assessed the fat under my chin, the fat volume in my side cheeks, the masseter muscles, the submandibular glands, and the tension in my chin. What surprised me was Botox. At first I wondered why they were treating so many areas together, so I asked about each reason. They explained that if the masseter muscles are developed, the width of the lower face from the front can remain even after reducing fat; the volume under the chin is not all fat because of the submandibular glands, so if they protrude, the area can continue to look heavy. For chin-dimpling Botox, I had a bumpy contraction when I tensed my chin, so they explained that it would relax that area. For corner-of-mouth Botox, they also considered the downward pull around the mouth so the lower-face impression would not look too droopy. After hearing this, I understood why they recommended it with liposuction. In the end I had liposuction under the chin and on the side cheeks, plus Botox for chin dimpling, the mouth corners, masseters, and submandibular glands. Today is day 3. I was most worried about bruising and swelling. Since it was my face, I expected it to be obvious for at least several days and cleared my schedule, but there was almost no bruising and the swelling was not severe at all. It is not as if nothing changed, but my face was not dramatically swollen, and there was not enough bruising for people to notice immediately when I went out, so I am really satisfied lol. This was the part that scared me most while reading reviews, but recovery has been easier than expected. Even though swelling should still be present, the line has already changed. Comparing a pre-procedure side photo with today’s photo from the same angle, the rounded area attached beneath my chin is less visible, and the line from my chin down to my neck looks more separated. The difference is clearest when I lower my head lol. Before, even slightly tucking my chin made a thick fold appear immediately, but now the double chin is less noticeable in the same position, so I keep trying it lol. It is only day 3, so this is definitely not the final line and I need to keep watching it, but I am already quite satisfied to see a difference exactly where I wanted it while getting through recovery with almost no bruising or swelling. If you are just starting to research, take photos before treatment from the front, 45 degrees, full profile, and with your head lowered. I think the difference shows much more from the side and with my head lowered than from the front, so my dopamine is through the roof. At consultation, do not just say you want to get rid of your double chin; explain specifically whether you dislike the front view, side view, or the fold that appears when you lower your head. I am not fully settled yet, so I will continue taking photos from the same angles at one week and one month. If the progress still looks good then, I will bring another review.
