My eyes were usually uneven, so I did my makeup differently on each side (if I did them the same, the asymmetry looked worse) When I was bare-faced, the unevenness showed even more, so even when I was just going out briefly, I often wore a hat pulled down low. Other people might say, why do you care that much... But with appearance, once you start noticing one thing, you keep worrying about it until it is properly corrected. And because it was my eyes, I saw it every time I looked in the mirror, so it was even more stressful.
I looked up a lot of clinic reviews to correct my uneven eyes, and most people seemed to match the eyelid-line symmetry with an incisional method. Honestly, it was my first surgery, and I wanted recovery to be as quick as possible, so incision did not appeal to me... If possible, I wanted natural adhesion or otherwise buried-suture double eyelid surgery, but I think it was pretty difficult for me to look for clinics at that time I felt there was a limit to going around for consultations based on other people's eyes as the standard.
Still, I was lucky because there were many people around me who had double eyelid surgery, so I got clinic recommendations and heard a lot of truly vivid reviews. Among them, I found the clinic that felt the best and went for a consultation. There were 3 main questions I asked the director.
1. Could surgery be done to match my left double-eyelid line? > The director said of course it was possible, and during the consultation, they held the line several times and checked whether this was the look I wanted.
2. Then, would it be possible with natural adhesion?
> They did not just say, “Of course natural adhesion is possible because you want it~” They checked my skin type and tissue quality first, then said natural adhesion was possible. At that moment I really felt relieved!
3. Since I was getting double eyelid surgery, I also wanted canthoplasty together, so what canthoplasty did the director recommend?
> My inner corners were already open, and rather than doing excessive lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty, they recommended upper canthoplasty if I wanted a cooler, more open eye shape! Also, since I had always been stressed about looking hollow and tired, I asked about that too, and they told me it was because of under-eye fat, so I thought I might as well get everything done at once while having eye surgery, and I did.
I did not know how many post-op photos to upload, so I uploaded 3 for now... In order, they are photos from week 1, week 2, and week 4. Maybe because I had it done with natural adhesion, even at week 1 the swelling was not severe, so I walked around outside diligently for 1-2 hours to help reduce the swelling, and I strictly followed everything the clinic told me not to do (smoking, drinking, rubbing my eyes, etc...) I guess I really wanted to follow whatever I could as much as possible...
Still, I think I was really lucky. They say that some eyes cannot do a semi-out line, and that uneven eyes must always be done with incision, but I broke both of those and got the surgery haha So I feel relieved, and I am also thankful to the acquaintance who recommended the clinic haha
Everyone!! There is no absolute formula that applies to any cosmetic surgery, so I hope everyone here goes to consultations in person and decides on the surgical method, canthoplasty, and double-eyelid line. That is what I wanted to say, so I am posting this review.
