I have double eyelids, but I didn’t like that my eyes were small and upturned, so I decided to get lateral canthoplasty and lowering canthoplasty. I had heard that canthoplasty procedures have many side effects, so I was worried.. but I had been thinking about it for about 3 years I finally made up my mind and had the surgery this time, and now that it has been a month since surgery, except for a little conjunctival edema, my eyes have become naturally and prettily larger, so I’m personally satisfied!

The uncomfortable part after surgery was definitely the conjunctival edema. The whites of my eyes swelled up a lot, so it was uncomfortable to close my eyes, I had a lot of eye discharge, and my vision wasn’t clear, so I stayed mostly at home for about 3-4 weeks.. Then at some point the healing seemed to slow down, so I told the hospital that the conjunctival edema wasn’t getting better, and they prescribed medication and also gave me an injection! After that, one eye improved noticeably a lot, but the other eye still has conjunctival edema, so I’m currently seeing an ophthalmologist for treatment.
As for pain, it hurt a little during surgery, and from the day of surgery through the first week, it kept hurting, so I iced it frequently Personally, I think it hurt the most when the second set of stitches was removed.. But I thought surgery is supposed to hurt anyway, so this level of pain was something I had to accept haha
After surgery, my eyes became much bigger than before and the outer corners lowered, giving me a softer impression, so I was very satisfied. When I went for my 1-month follow-up consultation, they said that because it was done by incision, the lower and lateral canthoplasty would not reattach, so I felt relieved! Overall, it was a very satisfying surgery.
